Accounting Manager / Chief Accountant - TJ / 1928673

Paramount Associates is seeking an experienced Accounting Manager / Chief Accountant to lead the financial operations of a well-established restaurant located on Feroxpur Road, Lahore. The ideal candidate will bring a minimum of five years of accounting experience, demonstrating expertise in financial reporting, general ledger management, budgeting, forecasting, and compliance with accounting standards. This role involves managing a team of 15 accounting and support staff while working closely with various departments to ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial information. The position requires strong leadership skills and the ability to oversee month-end and year-end closing processes, detailed account reconciliations, and audit management.

Key Responsibilities

- Manage all financial accounting activities, including timely and accurate financial reporting, general ledger maintenance, and account reconciliations.
- Oversee month-end and year-end closing procedures, ensuring compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements.
- Prepare and analyze budgets, forecasts, and variance reports to support strategic financial planning and decision-making.
- Ensure strict adherence to tax regulations with timely filing of statutory returns and compliance reports.
- Lead audit processes by preparing financial statements and schedules, and collaborate with internal and external auditors to resolve queries.
- Maintain compliance with IFRS and GAAP accounting standards, staying updated on any changes to these frameworks.
- Supervise store management functions including inventory control, stock reconciliation, and cost management to protect company assets.
- Develop and implement accounting policies and procedures to enhance operational efficiency and strengthen internal controls.
- Provide leadership to a team of 15 personnel, including recruitment, training, and performance evaluation.
- Collaborate with other departments to consolidate financial data and offer insights for business growth and cost optimization.
- Monitor cash flows and working capital to maintain the company’s financial health and operational flexibility.
- Conduct scenario planning and financial analysis to evaluate the impact of business decisions and external factors.
- Maintain strong relationships with banks, financial institutions, and statutory bodies to ensure smooth financial operations.
- Drive continuous improvements in accounting processes and systems to increase accuracy and efficiency.
- Stay informed about industry trends, particularly in the restaurant sector, to apply best practices in financial management.

Required Qualifications

- M.Com degree or CA finalist status.
- At least five years of relevant accounting experience, preferably in a managerial role.
- Proficient knowledge of financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and compliance with accounting standards.
- Strong understanding of store management, inventory control, stock reconciliation, and cost management.
- Ability to manage month-end and year-end closing, account reconciliations, and audit processes effectively.

Preferred Qualifications and Additional Information

- Experience gained through articleship at a reputable Chartered Accountancy firm is highly preferred.
- Familiarity with tax compliance under IFRS and GAAP standards is advantageous.
- Prior exposure to the restaurant industry or retail sector will be considered a strong asset.
