Jahangir Book Depot is seeking a diligent and detail-oriented Accounts & Audit Officer to join their team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing accounting records, auditing financial transactions, and ensuring accuracy in all bookkeeping activities. This role requires a strong understanding of accounting principles, the ability to verify financial documents, and the confidence to address discrepancies independently. The position is based at the Lawrence Road office in Lahore and offers a competitive salary package.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review and audit payment, receipt, and journal vouchers to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Verify vendor bills, including rates, quantities, and supporting documentation.
- Maintain and check ledgers regularly to identify and correct errors or discrepancies.
- Ensure proper classification of transactions under correct account heads.
- Question and resolve any incorrect accounting entries or financial issues proactively.
- Maintain detailed and organized financial records with a high level of responsibility.
- Work independently while adhering to company policies and deadlines.
Required Qualifications:
- Minimum educational qualification of Bachelor of Commerce (B.Com).
- Excellent command of Microsoft Excel for data management and analysis.
- Strong foundational knowledge of basic accounting and bookkeeping principles.
- Ability to audit and verify financial documents accurately.
- Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Confidence in addressing and resolving accounting discrepancies.
Preferred Qualifications and Benefits:
- The role offers a monthly salary ranging from PKR 40,000 to 45,000.
- Office hours are from 10:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.
- The position requires physical presence at the office located near China Chowk, Lawrence Road, Lahore.
