We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Accounts & Finance Operations Supervisor to manage day-to-day financial controls, accounting operations, cash management, inventory reconciliation, and operational reporting for our retail mart. This hands-on supervisory role requires a strong understanding of both retail finance and daily store operations. The ideal candidate will have practical experience with cash reconciliation, POS systems, inventory controls, supplier accounts, expense management, and internal audits. You will be responsible for identifying discrepancies, investigating their causes, maintaining accurate records, and ensuring adherence to financial and operational controls.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain and monitor daily sales and financial records, including cash closing and reconciliation.
- Reconcile POS sales with cash, card, bank transfers, and other payment methods.
- Oversee daily expenses, petty cash, and operational payments.
- Manage supplier and purchase-related accounts, verifying invoices, bills, receipts, and payment records.
- Assist with accounts payable and receivable processes.
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly financial reports and coordinate with management on financial performance and discrepancies.
- Monitor daily financial and operational activities, ensuring proper cash-handling procedures.
- Track discounts, refunds, voids, returns, and unusual POS transactions.
- Review daily closing reports to identify irregularities.
- Ensure proper documentation for purchases, expenses, and stock movements.
- Collaborate with store and operations teams to resolve discrepancies.
- Conduct regular physical stock counts and inventory reconciliation, comparing physical stock with POS/system records.
- Investigate stock shortages, overages, wastage, damages, and unexplained variances.
- Monitor stock receiving and dispatch procedures, verifying purchase quantities against supplier invoices and received stock.
- Support periodic and surprise inventory audits, maintaining records of stock adjustments and discrepancies.
- Perform routine internal audits of cash, sales, inventory, purchases, and expenses.
- Identify control weaknesses and recommend corrective actions.
- Investigate financial and inventory discrepancies, ensuring proper authorization and documentation.
- Prepare audit observations and reports for management while maintaining confidentiality.
- Ensure staff compliance with established SOPs and financial controls.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 2 to 4+ years of relevant professional experience in accounts, finance, retail operations, internal audit, or inventory control.
- Prior experience in a mart, supermarket, retail store, FMCG, warehouse, or multi-department retail environment is strongly preferred.
- Hands-on experience with POS systems and retail accounting processes.
- Strong knowledge of cash and sales reconciliation, inventory and stock reconciliation.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel.
- Solid understanding of accounting principles and financial controls.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen eye for detail and accuracy.
- Strong communication and reporting abilities.
- Ability to work independently and maintain confidentiality.
Preferred Qualifications and Benefits
Candidates with experience in retail or supermarket accounting, POS reconciliation, daily cash closing, inventory audits, stock and supplier reconciliation, purchase and expense verification, internal audits, retail SOP implementation, FMCG accounting, and Excel-based financial reporting will be given preference.

Additional Information
This is not a basic bookkeeping or data-entry role. The successful candidate will actively engage in accounts, financial controls, retail operations, inventory reconciliation, and internal audit. Work Location: In-person at our office in Karachi.
Salary Range: Rs. 50,000 to Rs. 75,000 per month.
