AI Agent Developer

Royal Signs & Awnings is looking for a talented AI Agent Developer with strong expertise in n8n, large language models (LLMs), and workflow automation to join their team either full-time or on a contract basis. This fully remote position requires a proactive professional who can design, develop, and deploy intelligent AI agents that automate and optimize business processes across multiple departments. The ideal candidate will have at least two years of experience in automation development focused on AI agents and be comfortable working US time zone hours from 8 am to 5 pm. The role offers a competitive salary aligned with experience.

Key Responsibilities
Design and implement AI agents using platforms such as n8n, OpenAI, Claude, and other LLMs. Develop multi-agent systems where specialized AI agents communicate and coordinate tasks efficiently. Integrate AI agents with Gmail, Google Workspace, CRM systems, APIs, and internal databases to automate workflows across departments including project management, sales, estimating, customer service, accounting, and operations. Create agents capable of reading emails, extracting key information, updating systems, generating reports, and preparing responses. Implement advanced features such as agent memory, tool calling, structured outputs, and human approval workflows. Set up and maintain self-hosted n8n infrastructure to ensure reliable operation. Monitor agent performance, troubleshoot issues, and continuously improve system stability. Ensure data security, enforce access controls, and maintain comprehensive logging for all automated processes.

Required Qualifications
A minimum of two years’ hands-on experience in automation development with a focus on AI agents is essential. Proficiency in advanced workflow development using n8n, including webhooks, API integrations, and error handling, is required. Practical experience with LLM APIs such as OpenAI and Anthropic Claude, including prompt engineering and function/tool calling, is necessary. Strong understanding of AI agent architectures, multi-agent orchestration, agent memory, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), and autonomous workflows is expected. Solid programming skills in Python and/or JavaScript are required. Experience working with databases like PostgreSQL, Supabase, or vector databases, along with familiarity with infrastructure tools such as Docker and VPS deployment, is important. Ability to work with REST APIs, OAuth protocols, Google Workspace, and CRM platforms is needed. The candidate should be a self-motivated problem solver focused on building scalable, production-ready systems rather than prototypes or simple automation demos. Fluency in English is required. A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, IT, or a related technical field is preferred.

Preferred Qualifications and Benefits

Experience developing AI agents tailored to industries like construction, manufacturing, signage, or project management will be advantageous. Knowledge of frameworks such as LangChain, LangGraph, or experience working with open-source LLMs and local deployments is also desirable.
