Application Security Intern

We are looking for a passionate and motivated Application Security Intern to join our team and gain hands-on experience in the field of application security. Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in Secure Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) practices, including security reviews, code analysis, and threat modeling.
- Utilize tools such as Static Application Security Testing (SAST) and Dynamic Application Security Testing (DAST) to identify vulnerabilities.
- Perform manual security testing on web applications, APIs, and mobile applications to detect common vulnerabilities like SQL Injection, Cross-Site Scripting (XSS), and Broken Authentication.
- Support validation of fixes for reported vulnerabilities and collaborate with development teams to resolve security issues.
- Research and implement best practices for application security, including OWASP Top 10 and CWE/SANS Top 25 guidelines.
- Conduct vulnerability scans on systems, applications, and networks using tools like Nessus, Burp Suite, and Metasploit.
- Assist in penetration testing activities to evaluate the security posture of applications and systems.
- Document security findings clearly and suggest remediation steps to improve overall security.
- Stay current with the latest trends, vulnerabilities, and technologies in application security.
- Experiment with security tools and techniques within a sandbox environment.
- Collaborate closely with the Application Security team to understand real-world challenges and contribute ideas during team discussions.

Required Qualifications:
- Recently completed a degree in Information Security, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Basic understanding of application security frameworks such as OWASP Top 10.
- Familiarity with programming languages like Java, Python, or C#.
- Exposure to web technologies including HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and API development is advantageous.
- Knowledge of security tools such as Burp Suite, OWASP ZAP, or Nessus is a plus.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Demonstrated eagerness to learn, adapt, and work effectively within a team environment.
