We are seeking a skilled Application Support Engineer Level II to join our team. This role involves deploying, configuring, and maintaining applications primarily on Windows and IIS servers. The ideal candidate will be responsible for troubleshooting a variety of technical issues, including front-end errors, connectivity problems, and application performance concerns. You will also manage SSL certificates, monitor server health, analyze logs, and support database operations. Collaboration with development and analyst teams is essential, as is handling support tickets and executing deployments through ServiceNow. The position requires working across both on-premises and cloud environments, ensuring smooth application functionality and timely resolution of incidents.
Key Responsibilities
- Deploy and configure applications on Windows and IIS servers, managing IIS components such as Application Pools, Websites, Bindings, and SSL certificates.
- Troubleshoot front-end issues including login failures, access restrictions, and session timeouts.
- Diagnose and resolve endpoint and connectivity problems involving URL access, API failures, DNS, and port configurations.
- Manage SSL certificate lifecycle including expiry monitoring, binding, installation, and trust issues.
- Identify and resolve application performance problems such as slowness and high response times.
- Address printing-related issues including printer connectivity, spooler service, and printer mapping.
- Monitor and manage Windows services and Task Scheduler jobs to ensure system reliability.
- Analyze various logs including Event Viewer, IIS logs, and application-specific logs to identify root causes.
- Perform server resource monitoring covering CPU, memory, and disk usage.
- Write and execute SQL queries (SELECT, UPDATE, INSERT, DELETE) and troubleshoot SQL data issues and SQL Agent Jobs.
- Conduct database backups (full, differential, log) and restores, including point-in-time and full restores.
- Handle ServiceNow tickets related to incidents, cases, and issues, and execute deployments via ServiceNow change requests.
- Collaborate closely with development and analyst teams to support application enhancements and troubleshooting.
- Provide support for both on-premises infrastructure and cloud environments.
Required Qualifications
- Strong expertise in IIS and Windows Server administration.
- Proven troubleshooting skills across application, network, and server layers.
- Experience with monitoring services and server health.
- Azure AZ-104 certification is mandatory.
- Basic proficiency in SQL including query writing, job management, and backup/restore operations.
Preferred Qualifications and Additional Skills
- Foundational knowledge of Microsoft Azure cloud services.
- Experience with PowerShell scripting to automate tasks.
- Basic understanding of networking concepts such as DNS, ports, and firewall configurations.
