Meds IT Nexus is looking to hire an experienced Medical Billing and Accounts Receivable (AR) Specialist to join our expanding team. This role is centered on managing insurance claims, resolving denials, leading appeals, and ensuring steady cash flow for our US-based clients. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in AR follow-up, denial management, and insurance appeals within the US medical billing sector. This position requires working onsite during night shifts at our Rawalpindi office.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage end-to-end AR follow-ups on unpaid, aged, or outstanding insurance claims within standard cycle times.
- Review patient claims for accuracy, coding compliance, and completeness prior to submission to reduce billing rejections.
- Identify, investigate, and resolve payment discrepancies, underpayments, and claim denials.
- Prepare, compile, and submit formal appeals to insurance carriers, supported by necessary clinical and billing documentation.
- Verify insurance payments against contractual rates for Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial payers to detect underpaid accounts.
- Handle secondary and tertiary insurance billing processes and respond to inquiries from patients and insurance representatives.
- Generate daily and weekly AR trend analyses, research summaries, and performance reports using MS Excel.
- Maintain accurate documentation of tasks and ensure clear communication with Team Leads and Managers.
Required Qualifications
- Proven experience as an AR Specialist in US Medical Billing, including AR follow-up, denial management, and insurance appeals.
- Hands-on experience with major EHR and billing platforms such as AdvancedMD, eClinicalWorks, Kareo/Tebra, Practice Fusion, OfficeAlly, EncoderPro, and various payer portals.
- Strong technical proficiency in MS Excel, including pivot tables, data sorting, and reporting formulas, along with familiarity with web faxing tools and good typing speed.
- Solid understanding of CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS coding standards, insurance guidelines for Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial payers, and prior authorization workflows.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, with strong analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
