Meds IT Nexus is looking for a skilled AR Specialist and Medical Billing Professional to join our expanding team supporting US healthcare clients. This full-time role is based onsite in Rawalpindi at Asghar Mall Road and operates on an evening/night shift from 5:30 PM to 2:30 AM, Monday through Friday. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience managing accounts receivable, insurance claim processing, denial resolution, and appeals management to ensure timely and accurate revenue flow. Attention to detail, strong communication skills, and proficiency with US medical billing systems are essential for success in this position.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage comprehensive accounts receivable follow-ups on unpaid, aged, or outstanding insurance claims within established cycle times.
- Review patient claims for accuracy, coding compliance, and completeness before submission to reduce billing rejections.
- Identify, investigate, and resolve payment discrepancies, underpayments, and claim denials efficiently.
- Prepare and submit formal appeals to insurance carriers, supported by appropriate clinical and billing documentation.
- Verify insurance payments against contractual rates for Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial payers to detect underpayments.
- Handle secondary and tertiary insurance billing processes and respond to inquiries from patients and insurance representatives.
- Generate daily and weekly AR trend analyses, research summaries, and performance reports using MS Excel.
- Maintain precise task documentation and ensure effective communication with Team Leads and Managers.
Required Qualifications
- Proven experience as an AR Specialist within US medical billing, including AR follow-up, denial management, and appeals processing.
- Hands-on experience with major EHR and billing platforms such as AdvancedMD, eClinicalWorks, Kareo/Tebra, Practice Fusion, OfficeAlly, EncoderPro, and payer portals.
- Strong technical skills in MS Excel, including pivot tables, data sorting, and reporting formulas, along with familiarity with web faxing tools and proficient typing speed.
- Solid understanding of CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS coding, insurance guidelines for Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial payers, and prior authorization workflows.
- Excellent written and verbal English communication skills, combined with strong analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
