We are seeking an experienced Manager of Architecture to oversee client-side design management and architectural delivery throughout the entire project lifecycle. This role involves guiding projects from the initial concept and feasibility stages through design development, construction, and final handover. The successful candidate will manage both local and international consultants, ensure the preservation of design intent, coordinate multidisciplinary inputs, drive value engineering efforts, and provide architectural and civil oversight during construction.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and manage architectural design delivery across all project phases, including concept, schematic, detailed design, tender, construction, and handover. Serve as the primary interface for architecture, interior design, and civil disciplines between the client, consultants, project management consultants (PMC), contractors, and other key stakeholders. Act as the Design Guardian by ensuring that approved design intent, quality, functionality, aesthetics, and project requirements are consistently maintained throughout the project lifecycle.
Review, evaluate, and validate consultant submissions to ensure compliance with project requirements, applicable codes, authority regulations, and industry best practices. Coordinate and manage local and international architectural and multidisciplinary consultants, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to quality standards. Lead multidisciplinary design coordination across Architecture, Civil & Structural, MEP, Infrastructure, Landscape, and specialist disciplines to achieve integrated project outcomes.
Support feasibility studies, development planning, preparation of design briefs, technical due diligence, and other project development activities. Drive value engineering, material evaluation, and design optimization initiatives aimed at improving cost efficiency, constructability, maintainability, and lifecycle value. Assist in consultant and contractor procurement processes, including preparation of RFPs, technical specifications, tender evaluations, and technical assessments.
Provide architectural oversight during construction by reviewing shop drawings, material submissions, mock-ups, technical queries, and conducting site inspections. Monitor consultant and contractor performance to ensure timely resolution of design, coordination, interface, and technical issues. Liaise with regulatory authorities and relevant stakeholders to facilitate approvals and ensure statutory compliance.
Ensure strict adherence to project governance, approved budgets, schedules, quality standards, and design requirements. Support project closeout activities such as inspections, snagging, preparation of handover documentation, and capturing lessons learned for future projects.
Required Qualifications
A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Architecture with 12 to 15 years of relevant professional experience in architecture, design management, and project delivery. Proven experience managing local and international Tier-1 consultants on large-scale developments is essential. Demonstrated expertise in high-rise, commercial, residential, mixed-use, hospitality, or major infrastructure projects is required. A strong track record of involvement from concept design through construction and project handover is expected.
Preferred Qualifications and Benefits
Registration with the Professional Council of Architects and Town Planners (PCATP) and BIM certification will be considered advantageous. Experience working in client-side roles, developer environments, project management consultancies, or leading architectural consultancies is preferred.
This role offers the opportunity to lead complex architectural projects with a diverse team of professionals, contributing to landmark developments and shaping the built environment.
