This leadership role involves overseeing the academic management and operational functions of multiple schools within a designated area. The position requires direct accountability for the performance and development of a cohort of Principals, ensuring continuous improvement in student enrollment, fee collection, and daily fleet management. The role also includes supervising administrative staff responsible for academic data management, ensuring accuracy and preservation of records.
Key Responsibilities
Overall Area Leadership:
Lead and manage the academic and operational aspects of schools within the area, providing guidance and support to Principals. Oversee the Area Administrator to ensure smooth execution of administrative tasks and accurate academic data handling, including analysis and verification.
Relationship Management:
Foster strong communication channels with community members to leverage local resources that support school activities. Encourage Principals to maintain active engagement with parents and participate in parent-student meetings when necessary. Maintain liaison with donors regarding education-related initiatives. Collaborate closely with other Area Education Managers (AEMs) to promote a culture of shared learning, feedback, and regional development.
Quality of Principals:
Drive the professional growth and effectiveness of Principals by strengthening their skills and leadership capabilities. Partner with the Recruitment and Human Resources Manager in selecting high-quality local Principals, including involvement in assessment centers. Ensure Principals participate fully in Performance and Quality Improvement (PQI) visits and receive regular academic feedback through formal appraisals. Support Principals with Performance Improvement Plans (PIP) as needed.
Quality of Teachers:
Enhance the teaching workforce by improving content knowledge and pedagogical skills through collaboration with Principals and Teacher Coaching Teams (TCT). Assist in recruiting qualified local teachers, particularly in challenging locations. Approve teacher transfers and promotion recommendations. Conduct at least one classroom observation during each visit, providing consistent and constructive feedback.
Quality of Schools:
Develop and implement targeted action plans for schools facing challenges, ensuring regular monitoring and follow-up to drive improvement. Strategize area-wide development plans aligned with the Annual Improvement Plan (AIP) to support overall school and regional progress.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Education from a recognized institution.
- Minimum of three years’ experience serving as a Principal.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Strong proficiency in English and Urdu.
- Competent in computer applications including MS Office and internet usage.
- Ability to multitask effectively and meet deadlines.
- Strong analytical skills to interpret academic and operational data.
