Area Manager – Tando Allayar

This role involves comprehensive leadership and management of schools within the Southern Zone, focusing on academic excellence and operational efficiency. The incumbent will oversee a cohort of Principals, ensuring continuous improvement in student success rates, fee collection, and fleet management. They will also manage administrative functions through the Area Administrator, including academic data analysis, verification, and preservation. Strong relationship management with community members, parents, donors, and other Area Managers is essential to foster collaboration and resource utilization. The role demands active involvement in recruitment, professional development, and performance monitoring of Principals and Teachers to elevate the overall quality of education. Strategic planning and implementation of improvement initiatives for schools in the area are also key components of this position.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead and be accountable for the academic leadership and management of all schools and Principals within the area.
- Ensure improvement in student success rates (SSR), enhance fee collection processes, and oversee day-to-day fleet management.
- Manage the Area Administrator to handle administrative duties and maintain academic data integrity through analysis, verification, and preservation.
- Maintain effective communication with community members to encourage the use of local resources in support of schools.
- Encourage Principals to maintain strong communication with parents and occasionally participate in parent-student meetings.
- Liaise with donors regarding education-related activities as required.
- Collaborate with other Area Managers to promote a strong, cooperative working environment by sharing best practices and seeking feedback for regional development.
- Strengthen the Principal cohort to improve leadership quality by working closely with the RHR Manager during recruitment, including participation in Assessment Centers.
- Ensure Principals fully engage in PQI visits and receive regular academic feedback, including formal appraisals, and support improvement plans (PIP) where necessary.
- Enhance teacher quality by supporting Principals in recruiting qualified local teachers, especially in challenging locations.
- Approve teacher transfers and promotion recommendations.
- Conduct a minimum of one classroom observation per visit and provide consistent, constructive feedback.
- Develop and implement clear action plans for struggling schools, with regular follow-up to ensure progress.
- Plan and execute area improvement strategies aligned with the Annual Improvement Plan (AIP) and overall school development goals.

Required Qualifications

- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Education from a reputable institution.
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience serving as a Principal.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, persuasion, and interpersonal skills.
- Strong command of both English and Urdu.
- Proficiency in computer applications, including MS Office and internet use.
- Ability to multitask and meet deadlines effectively.
- Strong analytical skills.
