We are seeking a qualified legal professional with a minimum of five years’ experience in handling legal and legislative matters within either the public or private sector. The ideal candidate will have a background as a Foreign or Local LLB graduate, Barrister-at-Law, or Solicitor. This role requires expertise in drafting and reviewing a variety of legal documents, including Conventions, Agreements, Memorandums of Understanding (MOUs), Contracts, and other related legal instruments. A strong understanding of international law and the ability to provide legal opinions on policy and regulatory issues, along with experience in legislative drafting, will be highly valued. Candidates with experience in the public sector will be given preference, followed by those from state-run corporations or reputable private corporations.

Key Responsibilities

- Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating Conventions, Agreements, MOUs, Contracts, and other legal documents to ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
- Providing expert legal advice and opinions on policy, regulatory, and legislative matters, particularly in relation to international law.
- Assisting in the preparation and review of legislative drafts to support organizational and governmental objectives.
- Collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to address legal issues and ensure alignment with organizational goals.
- Monitoring changes in relevant laws and regulations to advise on potential impacts and necessary adjustments.
- Supporting the organization in managing legal risks and ensuring adherence to statutory and regulatory requirements.

Required Qualifications

- A degree in Law (LLB) from a recognized foreign or local institution, or qualification as a Barrister-at-Law or Solicitor.
- At least five years of professional experience in legal and legislative matters within public or private sectors.
- Proven experience in drafting and reviewing Conventions, Agreements, MOUs, Contracts, and other legal documents.
- Strong knowledge of international law principles and the ability to render legal opinions on policy and regulatory frameworks.
- Demonstrated experience in legislative drafting and understanding of the legislative process.
- Excellent analytical, communication, and negotiation skills.

Preferred Qualifications and Benefits

- Experience working within the public sector is highly preferred, with candidates from state-run corporations or reputable private corporations also considered favorably.
- Familiarity with regulatory environments and policy development processes will be an advantage.
- The position is classified under Grade/Pay Scale MP-III.
- There are two vacancies available for this role.
