The Assistant General Manager (AGM) – Group Project Management Office (PMO) will play a critical role in establishing and managing a comprehensive project management framework across the organization. This position ensures effective governance and successful delivery of strategic, cross-functional initiatives by providing senior management with clear visibility into the project portfolio, including timelines, budgets, risks, resources, and overall project health. The AGM will ensure that all projects remain aligned with the company’s business priorities and objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Establish and maintain the Group PMO framework, including governance models, methodologies, standards, and reporting mechanisms to ensure consistency and quality across all projects.
- Manage the Group-wide project portfolio, ensuring projects are aligned with strategic business goals and priorities.
- Develop and standardize project plans, templates, key performance indicators (KPIs), dashboards, and executive-level reporting tools.
- Facilitate project prioritization processes, resource planning, stage-gate reviews, and governance meetings to maintain project discipline and oversight.
- Prepare and distribute weekly project portfolio reports that detail project status, milestones, delays, risks, issues, dependencies, budget status, and highlight actions requiring management attention.
- Maintain centralized trackers for projects, risks, issues, actions, and decisions to ensure transparency and accountability.
- Identify potential project risks and delivery challenges, ensuring timely mitigation and escalation to prevent impact on project outcomes.
- Coordinate effectively with various stakeholders including business functions, IT, SAP teams, vendors, consultants, and project managers to drive successful project delivery.
- Support management and Steering Committees by providing weekly portfolio updates, highlighting project status, key risks, and decisions needed.
- Lead the evaluation, implementation, and adoption of a Group-wide project management tool to enable centralized project tracking, collaboration, dashboards, and reporting.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Engineering, IT, Project Management, or a related field. A Master’s degree is considered an advantage.
- 7 to 10 years of experience in PMO, project management, program management, or portfolio management.
- Proven experience managing enterprise-wide and cross-functional projects.
- Demonstrated ability to establish or manage a PMO function within a medium to large-sized organization.
