We are seeking a proactive and hands-on assistant to support our Industrial Automation Engineer in the daily maintenance and troubleshooting of production machinery. This role offers on-the-job training, allowing you to gradually take on increased responsibilities within a dynamic industrial environment. The ideal candidate will work closely with the engineering team to ensure smooth operation and timely repairs of critical equipment.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in troubleshooting and maintaining CNC machines, injection moulding machines, and pneumatic/air compressor systems.
- Replace and test components such as heater bands, thermocouples, contactors, relays, MCBs, solenoid valves, sensors, and switches.
- Inspect and check Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs), servo drives, PLC inputs/outputs, and Human-Machine Interfaces (HMIs) under supervision.
- Trace control-panel wiring using technical drawings, perform panel inspections, and tighten terminals as needed.
- Utilize a multimeter to conduct voltage, continuity, and resistance measurements.
- Document all faults, repairs, and replaced parts with photographic evidence using a WhatsApp-based maintenance system. Daily documentation is mandatory to maintain accurate records.
Required Qualifications
- Diploma of Associate Engineering (DAE) in Electrical, Electronics, or Mechatronics; fresh graduates are welcome to apply. Alternatively, candidates with an electrician qualification and 1-2 years of industrial experience will also be considered.
- Basic understanding of AC/DC electrical circuits and proficiency in using a multimeter.
- Ability to read and interpret basic control-panel wiring diagrams.
- Strong willingness to learn, a methodical and organized approach to work, and punctuality.
