Oxiliry (Private) Limited is continuously seeking qualified lawyers for Assistant Legal Counsel positions across Islamabad, Karachi, and Lahore. This role is integral to the Legal Department, supporting the Director of International Legal Affairs in managing a broad range of corporate, commercial, transactional, litigation, employment, regulatory, and other legal matters. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong legal research and drafting skills, exercise sound professional judgment, take ownership of assigned tasks, communicate effectively with stakeholders, and adhere to established departmental standards and workflows.
Key Responsibilities
Legal Matter Management: Manage and support assigned corporate, commercial, transactional, litigation, employment, regulatory, and other legal matters within delegated authority and under supervision.
Legal Research and Analysis: Conduct comprehensive legal and regulatory research, identify relevant risks, and prepare clear, practical analyses and recommendations.
Drafting and Contract Review: Draft, review, revise, and negotiate contracts, correspondence, pleadings, corporate documents, regulatory filings, and other legal instruments.
Litigation and Dispute Support: Coordinate litigation and dispute matters by working with external counsel, maintaining case records, monitoring deadlines, and assisting with litigation strategy and execution.
Risk Assessment: Identify and evaluate legal, regulatory, contractual, and operational risks, contributing to the development of mitigation strategies.
Business Support: Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand business needs and provide timely, practical legal advice within the scope of the role.
Legal Operations and Knowledge Management: Maintain accurate records, follow Legal Department workflows and service standards, contribute to knowledge sharing, and support continuous process improvements.
Stakeholder Communication: Deliver timely, clear updates on assigned matters and escalate significant issues according to established protocols.
Team Contribution: Work collaboratively within the Legal Department, fostering a culture of ownership, accountability, professional growth, and continuous learning.
Required Qualifications
Education: LL.B. or an equivalent recognized law degree.
Experience: Approximately 3–4 years of post-qualification legal experience, preferably gained at a reputable law firm, corporate legal department, or a combination of both.
Essential Skills and Attributes
Strong legal research, analytical, and drafting capabilities; a solid understanding of commercial and corporate law, dispute resolution, governance, and legal risk; ability to analyze complex issues and communicate practical conclusions clearly. Candidates must demonstrate ownership, prioritization, organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple matters and stakeholders while meeting deadlines. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential, along with the capacity to work independently within delegated authority and recognize when escalation is necessary. The role requires effective functioning within a structured, process-driven Legal Department.
