Assistant Manager – Accounts

We are looking for a detail-oriented and experienced Assistant Manager – Accounts to support our finance and accounting functions. The successful candidate will play a key role in maintaining accurate financial records, managing accounts payable and receivable, preparing financial reports, monitoring expenses, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards. Experience in the pharmaceutical or manufacturing sectors is highly desirable.

Key Responsibilities
- Assist the Finance Manager in overseeing daily accounting and financial activities.
- Maintain accurate general ledger accounts and accounting records.
- Prepare and review journal entries, vouchers, reconciliations, and financial schedules.
- Manage accounts payable and receivable, including invoice verification and payment follow-up.
- Conduct regular bank, supplier, customer, and ledger reconciliations.
- Monitor outstanding receivables and payables, coordinating with relevant departments for timely resolution.
- Support monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closing processes.
- Prepare management reports, financial statements, and accounting summaries as needed.
- Monitor company expenses ensuring proper documentation and approvals.
- Coordinate with procurement for purchase invoices, supplier payments, and related documentation.
- Work with warehouse and inventory teams to reconcile stock records with accounting data.
- Assist in pharmaceutical inventory valuation, purchases, returns, and adjustments.
- Review sales invoices, credit notes, debit notes, and related accounting entries.
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis activities.
- Ensure accurate recording and classification of expenses, purchases, sales, and other transactions.
- Assist with tax documentation, reconciliations, and liaise with tax consultants when required.
- Provide support during internal and external audits by supplying accurate financial records and documentation.
- Ensure compliance with company accounting policies, internal controls, and relevant financial regulations.
- Identify discrepancies or irregularities in financial records and coordinate timely resolution.
- Maintain proper documentation and filing of financial records for audit and reference purposes.
- Contribute to improving accounting processes, controls, and reporting systems.
- Prepare regular financial and accounting reports for senior management.
- Perform additional finance and accounting duties as assigned by management.

Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or a related field.
- 3 to 5 years of relevant accounting experience, preferably within pharmaceutical, manufacturing, or FMCG industries.
- Strong understanding of general accounting principles and financial reporting.
- Practical experience with accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank reconciliations, and general ledger management.
- Proficiency in accounting software or ERP systems.
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
- Good knowledge of inventory accounting and reconciliation.
- Strong analytical, numerical, and problem-solving abilities with keen attention to detail.
- Effective communication and coordination skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines efficiently.
- High level of professionalism, organization, and responsibility.
- Commitment to maintaining confidentiality of financial and company information.
