Assistant Manager - Data Center.MGN Pak - TECH - Infrastructure.MIT - PAKCOE

We are seeking a skilled professional with extensive experience in datacenter operations and application deployment to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing and supporting job schedulers and managed file transfer tools, ensuring smooth business-as-usual (BAU) activities. This role requires a proactive approach to automation within datacenter operations, with a strong focus on risk mitigation and operational efficiency. The candidate will work closely with various internal teams and vendors to maintain high availability and business continuity across primary and secondary sites, supporting critical banking operations on a 24x7 rotational shift basis.

Key Responsibilities

- Manage and support job schedulers administration and related BAU activities to ensure timely and accurate execution of scheduled jobs.
- Oversee managed file transfer tools administration, including BAU tasks, ensuring secure and reliable data transfers across multiple applications.
- Automate datacenter operations activities, designing automation tasks with robust exception handling and controlled rerun capabilities to minimize risks and operational impacts.
- Analyze file transfer requirements across applications, implement optimal solutions, conduct thorough testing, and enforce necessary controls.
- Ensure adherence to pre- and post-validation processes during production deployments and support activities to maintain system integrity.
- Enforce high availability configurations for supporting applications across primary and secondary sites to guarantee uninterrupted services.
- Support business continuity testing initiatives across the bank to validate disaster recovery and failover procedures.
- Track and manage datacenter operations service tickets, ensuring timely resolution and documentation.
- Monitor application batches according to standard operating procedures (SOPs) provided by internal teams, escalating and recording issues as necessary.
- Escalate and document system, application, and batch problems, collaborating with various internal teams to resolve operational challenges.
- Monitor alerts from the bank’s enterprise monitoring systems and respond promptly to potential issues.
- Liaise with infrastructure owners, application owners, and vendors to coordinate support activities and ensure smooth operations.
- Deploy approved changes across various infrastructure platforms following established change management protocols.
- Provide prompt reporting of production issues, including impact analysis and corrective action plans.
- Manage escalation, recording, and tracking of all incidents until closure, maintaining clear communication with stakeholders.

- Proven experience in datacenter operations and application deployment.
- Strong knowledge of job schedulers and managed file transfer tools administration.
- Demonstrated ability to automate operational tasks with effective exception handling.
- Experience in implementing and testing file transfer solutions with appropriate controls.

- Ability to monitor and manage production batches and alerts in line with SOPs.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and experience in incident management.
