We are seeking a skilled and experienced Senior System Administrator to manage and maintain our organization's IT infrastructure. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the reliability, security, and optimal performance of our Windows Server environment, virtualization platforms, endpoint devices, and telephony systems. This role requires strong technical expertise, leadership capabilities, and the ability to coordinate with various teams to support business continuity and IT operations.

Key Responsibilities

Manage and maintain the Windows Server infrastructure, including Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy, File and Print Services, and other critical server roles. Administer Microsoft 365 and Azure AD (Microsoft Entra ID), handling user accounts, licenses, security policies, and access permissions to ensure secure and efficient operations.

Oversee VMware environments such as ESXi, vCenter, HA, and DRS, including virtual machine management, installation, configuration, patching, and troubleshooting. Monitor system performance metrics including CPU, RAM, storage, and overall server health to proactively address potential issues.

Implement and maintain backup and disaster recovery solutions to safeguard data integrity and support business continuity. Manage NAS/SAN storage systems, including file shares, permissions, quotas, and capacity planning.

Administer Windows 10/11 endpoints, managing software deployment, updates, and Group Policy configurations. Ensure endpoint security through antivirus/EDR tools, security policies, and system hardening practices.

Troubleshoot server, operating system, application, authentication, and user-access issues promptly. Utilize monitoring tools such as ManageEngine, PRTG, SNMP, or other network management systems to maintain IT infrastructure visibility.

Collaborate with network, security, application, ISP, and vendor teams to resolve infrastructure-related challenges. Manage IT assets, licenses, warranties, and maintain accurate hardware/software inventories.

Maintain comprehensive system documentation, including standard operating procedures (SOPs), network and server diagrams, configurations, and operational records. Plan and execute server migrations, upgrades, infrastructure deployments, and other technology projects.

Prepare system health reports, incident reports, capacity planning documents, and provide management updates. Lead and supervise System Administrators, IT Support Engineers, and other technical staff to ensure effective team performance.

Ensure compliance with organizational IT policies and security standards. Participate actively in disaster recovery drills, backup testing, vulnerability remediation, and business continuity planning.

Manage SIP infrastructure by configuring, monitoring, and maintaining SIP trunks, proxies, gateways, and session border controllers (SBCs). Oversee PBX administration, including daily operations, extensions, call queues, IVR routing, and dial plans on Grandstream UCM and Elastix (Asterisk-based) PBX systems.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field is required. Candidates should have 4 to 6 years of professional experience in system administration, with 2 to 3 years in a senior, team lead, or supervisory role considered an advantage.

Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to organize and multitask effectively are essential. The candidate must be capable of explaining complex technical issues in simple terms and work collaboratively as part of a team.

A commitment to continuous learning and staying updated with the latest technologies is important. A clear understanding of the employer’s specific systems and infrastructure is expected.

This position is based in Lahore. Experience leading teams and managing complex IT environments is highly valued.
