This role is responsible for the daily support and ongoing development of the organization’s Odoo platform, which integrates with various e-commerce systems. Acting as both first and second line support, the individual will serve as the in-house developer for configuration, customization, and integration tasks. The position ensures smooth operation, timely issue resolution, and continuous platform improvement to align with evolving business needs.

Key Responsibilities

Support:
Serve as the primary point of contact for Odoo-related issues raised by business users. Log, triage, and resolve support tickets within agreed service level agreements (SLAs). Monitor system health daily, including scheduled jobs, backups, server and database performance, and module errors. Escalate infrastructure issues to hosting support when necessary. Troubleshoot and resolve functional problems across modules such as Sales, Purchase, Inventory, Accounting, and Manufacturing. Maintain and update master data—products, partners, pricelists, and chart of accounts—following data governance standards. Provide training to new and existing users on standard processes, addressing user errors before escalating them as bugs. Keep support documentation up to date, including known issues, standard operating procedures, and configuration decision logs.

Development & Customization:
Gather and analyze business requirements to translate them into Odoo configurations, custom modules, or workflow automations. Develop and maintain custom Odoo modules using Python, including custom models, XML/QWeb views, and business logic. Build and maintain integrations between Odoo and other systems such as SAP, e-commerce platforms, banking, courier/logistics, and payment gateways using APIs (XML-RPC, JSON-RPC, REST). Design and maintain custom reports, dashboards, and QWeb print templates. Plan and execute Odoo version upgrades and module migrations, performing thorough regression testing before deployment. Follow a structured change control process by developing on test/staging environments, securing business approval, and deploying to production with rollback plans.

Required Qualifications

A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field is required. Candidates must have 3 to 5 years of hands-on experience supporting and developing on Odoo or a similar open-source ERP system, including at least one full implementation or major customization project. Experience in textile, manufacturing, or trading environments is advantageous. Prior experience integrating Odoo with a second ERP or external system is highly desirable.

Technical Skills:
Strong expertise in the Odoo framework, including ORM, module structure, XML views, QWeb reporting, and Odoo Studio. Proficiency in Python and object-oriented programming is essential. Working knowledge of PostgreSQL, including query writing and optimization, and understanding of Odoo’s database structure is required. Familiarity with JavaScript and OWL (Odoo’s front-end framework) for UI customization is a plus. Experience with Odoo’s web services (XML-RPC, JSON-RPC, REST APIs) for third-party integrations is important. Comfort with Git-based version control and structured development, staging, and production deployment processes is expected. Exposure to Linux server administration and Odoo.sh or on-premise deployment is beneficial.

Soft Skills & Competencies:
The ideal candidate will be a clear communicator, capable of translating business requirements into technical solutions and vice versa. They should be methodical and detail-oriented, especially concerning data integrity and change control. The ability to manage multiple support tickets and development tasks under competing deadlines is essential. This role requires working directly with end users across departments, including non-technical staff, and collaborating regularly with the SAP/ERP team on cross-system processes.

Key Performance Indicators include ticket resolution time against SLAs, uptime and availability of the Odoo platform during business hours, on-time delivery of development and customization requests, resolution of recurring issues at the root cause level, and user satisfaction feedback on support and training.
