This role is responsible for the daily support and continuous development of the organization’s Odoo platform, which integrates with relevant e-commerce systems. Acting as both first and second line support, the position serves as the primary in-house developer for configuration, customization, and integration tasks. The individual will ensure smooth operation of the platform, address user issues promptly, and implement enhancements aligned with business needs.

- Serve as the first point of contact for Odoo-related issues raised by business users, managing ticket logging, triage, and resolution within agreed service level agreements (SLAs).
- Monitor system health daily, including scheduled jobs, backups, server and database performance, and module errors; escalate infrastructure concerns to hosting support when necessary.
- Diagnose and resolve functional issues across modules such as Sales, Purchase, Inventory, Accounting, and Manufacturing.
- Maintain and update master data including products, partners, pricelists, and chart of accounts, ensuring compliance with data governance standards.
- Provide training to new and existing users on standard processes and troubleshoot user errors before escalating them as bugs.
- Keep support documentation current, including known issues, standard operating procedures, and records of configuration decisions.

Development & Customization:
- Collaborate with business users to gather requirements and translate them into Odoo configurations, custom modules, or workflow automations.
- Develop and maintain custom Odoo modules using Python, including models, XML/QWeb views, and business logic.
- Design and maintain integrations between Odoo and external systems such as SAP, e-commerce platforms, banking, courier/logistics, and payment gateways using APIs (XML-RPC, JSON-RPC, REST).
- Create and update custom reports, dashboards, and QWeb print templates.
- Plan and execute Odoo version upgrades and module migrations, conducting thorough regression testing prior to deployment.
- Adhere to a structured change control process by developing on test/staging environments, securing business approval, and deploying to production with rollback plans.

Required Qualifications

- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
- Three to five years of hands-on experience supporting and developing on Odoo or a similar open-source ERP system, including at least one full implementation or significant customization project.
- Experience in textile, manufacturing, or trading environments is advantageous.

Technical Skills

- Strong expertise in the Odoo framework, including ORM, module structure, XML views, QWeb reporting, and Odoo Studio.
- Proficiency in Python and object-oriented programming principles.
- Working knowledge of PostgreSQL, including query writing and optimization, with an understanding of Odoo’s database schema.
- Familiarity with JavaScript and OWL (Odoo’s front-end framework) for UI customization is a plus.
- Experience working with Odoo web services such as XML-RPC, JSON-RPC, and REST APIs for third-party integrations.
- Comfortable using Git for version control and following a structured development, staging, and production deployment workflow.
- Exposure to Linux server administration and Odoo.sh or on-premise deployment environments is beneficial.

Soft Skills & Competencies

- Effective communicator capable of translating business requirements into technical solutions and vice versa.
- Detail-oriented and methodical, especially regarding data integrity and change management.
- Able to manage multiple support tickets and development projects simultaneously under competing deadlines.
- Comfortable engaging directly with end users across departments, including non-technical staff.
- Collaborative mindset, regularly coordinating with SAP/ERP teams on cross-system processes.

Key Performance Indicators

- Timely ticket resolution in line with SLAs, including first response and final resolution.
- High uptime and availability of the Odoo platform during business hours.
- On-time completion of development and customization requests.
- Reduction in recurring issues through root cause resolution rather than temporary fixes.
- Positive user feedback on support and training services provided.
