Assistant Manager Product Development

We are seeking a creative and detail-oriented Assistant Manager – Product Development to join our Proto PPS team in Gajjumata, Lahore. The successful candidate will oversee the entire product development process, from initial concept through to final sample approval. This role requires strong technical expertise in fabrics, garment construction, sampling, trims, and costing, along with excellent coordination skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams including Design, Merchandising, PPC, Sourcing, and Production. The ideal candidate will be result-driven and capable of managing timelines to ensure timely delivery of high-quality products that meet brand standards and market expectations.

Key Responsibilities

- Manage the complete product development cycle, ensuring smooth progression from concept to final sample approval.
- Collaborate closely with Design, Merchandising, PPC, Sourcing, and Production teams to facilitate seamless execution of development plans.
- Oversee all aspects of fabric, trims, accessories, sampling, and product specifications to maintain quality and consistency.
- Monitor development timelines rigorously to ensure samples are completed on schedule.
- Coordinate sample fittings, implement product corrections, and drive quality improvements throughout the development process.
- Support product costing activities, ensuring alignment with target costs while maintaining quality standards.
- Maintain comprehensive product development records, including sample tracking and seasonal collection documentation.
- Ensure all products comply with brand standards, meet customer expectations, and reflect current market trends.
- Identify any delays in the development process and work proactively with relevant teams to resolve issues promptly.

Required Qualifications

- Bachelor’s degree in Textile, Fashion Design, Merchandising, or a related field.
- Minimum of 4 years of relevant experience in product development within the retail fashion or apparel industry.
- Strong technical knowledge of garment construction, fabrics, trims, accessories, sampling, and costing.
- Excellent coordination, communication, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office and experience with product development reporting tools.

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience working with ladies’ wear, prêt, or fashion retail brands will be an advantage.

This position reports directly to the Manager of Proto PPS and is based at the MB-Mills branch in Gajjumata, Lahore. Candidates with a passion for fashion product development and a proven track record of managing end-to-end development processes are encouraged to apply.
