We are seeking a detail-oriented Treasury Officer to manage daily cash and bank positions while maintaining strong banking relationships to support efficient treasury operations. The ideal candidate will be responsible for recording bank profits and charges in the ERP system, preparing bank reconciliations, and ensuring timely recording of direct deposits. This role requires close coordination with the disbursement team to guarantee all payment entries are posted before month-end closing. Additionally, the Treasury Officer will facilitate both internal and external audits related to bank reconciliations and manage bank confirmations during audits.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare daily cash and bank position reports to monitor liquidity.
- Maintain and nurture strong relationships with banking partners to resolve operational issues promptly.
- Record all bank profits and charges accurately into the ERP system for all bank accounts.
- Prepare comprehensive bank reconciliations on a regular basis.
- Summarize direct deposits and ensure they are recorded within the appropriate month.
- Coordinate with the disbursement team to ensure all payment entries are completed before closing.
- Facilitate internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and support for bank reconciliations.
- Arrange and coordinate bank confirmations during external audits.
- Liaise with banks to confirm donations, grants, or reversals received in accounts.
- Record monthly foreign currency exchange gains or losses.
- Ensure compliance with bank account management, including updates related to authorized signatories, Board members, and Directors.
- Manage inward and outward foreign currency remittances, maintaining a detailed tracker with all settlement information.
- Review treasury procedures and internal controls to ensure adherence to approved financial policies and delegated authorities.
- Perform any additional tasks assigned by the line manager.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business Administration (Finance) or equivalent; ACCA Part qualified candidates are also encouraged to apply.
- 2 to 5 years of relevant experience in treasury or finance roles.
- Strong understanding of basic accounting principles.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel with the ability to handle complex data.
- Excellent analytical and numerical skills to interpret financial data accurately.
- Effective time management skills to prioritize and meet deadlines.
- Strong communication skills for liaising with banks, auditors, and internal teams.
- Hands-on experience with ERP systems for financial recording and reporting.
