Assistant Professor – Computer Science

Northern University Nowshera is seeking a dedicated and experienced Assistant Professor in Computer Science to join its academic team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong research background and a commitment to delivering high-quality education. This role involves not only teaching but also actively contributing to the department’s growth through curriculum development, research supervision, and mentoring junior faculty. The successful applicant will ensure compliance with Higher Education Commission (HEC) standards while fostering a collaborative and dynamic academic environment.

Key Responsibilities
Deliver engaging lectures in Computer Science and related subjects to both undergraduate (BS) and postgraduate (MS) students. Lead and supervise research projects, including guiding theses and supporting academic publications. Design, develop, and periodically review curriculum, lesson plans, and assessment frameworks to maintain alignment with HEC accreditation standards. Mentor Lecturers and Assistant Professors to promote academic excellence and professional development. Ensure full compliance with HEC quality assurance requirements and participate actively in departmental meetings, academic planning, and institutional quality assurance activities. Lead research initiatives, including preparing grant applications and presenting findings at academic conferences. Oversee examination processes, compile results, and maintain accurate academic records. Provide academic counseling, mentoring, and pastoral support to students. Represent the department in inter-departmental and institutional committees to support collaborative efforts.

Required Qualifications
A PhD in Computer Science or a related discipline from an HEC-recognized institution is mandatory. Candidates should have a minimum of 3 to 5 years of post-PhD teaching and research experience that meets HEC criteria. A strong publication record in reputable academic journals is essential. The candidate must demonstrate expertise in core Computer Science subjects and be familiar with emerging technologies. Proven academic leadership and research supervision capabilities are required. Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills are necessary to effectively engage with students and colleagues. In-depth knowledge of HEC accreditation standards and quality assurance processes is critical. The ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary academic environment is expected. Proficiency in MS Office and academic technologies is also required.
