The Associate Cost Control position is essential for managing and optimizing costs within engineering functions by overseeing inventory, conducting audits, and implementing effective cost-reduction strategies. Key Responsibilities
- Maintain optimal stock levels by ensuring minimum inventory thresholds are met to support uninterrupted project operations.
- Regularly review inventory status, coordinate with procurement and project teams, and facilitate timely stock replenishment.
- Standardize inventory items across engineering departments by preparing and updating detailed specification sheets and catalogs.
- Collaborate closely with engineering and procurement teams to ensure inventory specifications align with project requirements and industry standards.
- Conduct routine audits of inventory and field sites to verify compliance with company policies and confirm the physical presence and condition of inventory items.
- Prepare comprehensive audit reports, document any discrepancies, and recommend corrective actions to uphold transparency and accountability.
- Identify cost-saving opportunities by evaluating inventory processes, vendor contracts, and material usage patterns.
- Implement cost-reduction initiatives and assist procurement teams in supplier negotiations to optimize agreements and resource utilization.
- Monitor and track project costs to ensure adherence to budgets, providing timely alerts on potential overruns.
- Work closely with project management to update cost forecasts and offer insights into financial health and project efficiency.
- Continuously enhance communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills to improve coordination with internal teams, suppliers, and stakeholders.
- Participate in training and development programs aimed at strengthening essential soft skills for effective cost control and collaboration.
Required Qualifications
- Proven experience in cost control, inventory management, or a related role.
- Strong analytical and organizational skills with keen attention to detail.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and ERP systems; experience with SAP is an advantage.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, business administration, or a related field.
