Associate Software Consultant - IBM SOA

We are seeking a motivated Junior IBM SOA Developer to join our engineering team. This role is ideal for candidates with a foundational understanding of software development, web services, and enterprise integration concepts who are eager to learn and grow their expertise in IBM integration technologies. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with senior engineers, gaining hands-on experience and contributing to integration development, implementation, and support activities.

Key Responsibilities

- Assist in developing, implementing, and maintaining enterprise integration solutions under the guidance of senior engineers.
- Support the development and consumption of SOAP and REST-based web services.
- Help build and maintain integrations using IBM Integration Bus (IIB) / App Connect Enterprise (ACE).
- Work with XML, XSLT, WSDL, and other integration-related technologies.
- Gain exposure to messaging and queuing systems, including IBM MQ and similar platforms.
- Assist in troubleshooting, debugging, and resolving integration-related issues.
- Collaborate with senior developers and cross-functional teams to understand technical requirements and deliver integration solutions.
- Follow development best practices, coding standards, and documentation guidelines.

Required Qualifications

- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
- Fresh graduates or candidates with up to 1 year of relevant software development or integration experience; relevant academic projects or internships will also be considered.
- Solid understanding of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP), data structures, and HTTP fundamentals.
- Basic knowledge of system integration concepts such as SOA, synchronous vs. asynchronous communication, and message queues.
- Familiarity with SOAP, REST APIs, and web services.
- Basic understanding of XML; exposure to XSLT and WSDL is a plus.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Willingness and ability to learn new technologies and work under the mentorship of senior engineers.

Preferred Qualifications

- Familiarity with IBM ACE/IIB, IBM MQ, or similar integration platforms.
- Experience with tools such as SoapUI, Postman, and Git.
- Some exposure to Java or ESQL programming languages.
