Pavago is seeking a detail-oriented Audit Assistant to support internal and external audit engagements remotely. This full-time role involves preparing audit documentation, reconciling accounts, assisting with control testing, and ensuring compliance with financial standards such as GAAP, IFRS, and SOX. The position requires working U.S. client business hours with some flexibility during audit cycles and deadlines. Preferred candidates are located in LATAM, Pakistan, the Philippines, or South Africa. The role demands strong organizational skills, accuracy, and the ability to manage multiple audit requests while maintaining audit-ready records year-round.

Key Responsibilities
- Compile and organize Prepared By Client (PBC) schedules and supporting documentation, including transactions, contracts, invoices, and financial records.
- Maintain structured, complete, and accessible digital audit files, tracking outstanding documentation and following up on missing items.
- Prepare and review account reconciliations, investigate discrepancies, and verify sampled transactions against underlying records.
- Assist with internal control walkthroughs, testing, and documentation to support compliance with GAAP, IFRS, SOX, and internal policies.
- Maintain clear audit trails and compliance documentation, escalating control issues or missing information to finance or audit leadership.
- Coordinate with accounting, finance, HR, operations, and auditors to collect requested records and respond promptly to audit inquiries.
- Track audit requests and follow-ups to ensure deadlines are met and audit fieldwork progresses smoothly.
- Prepare audit status updates, support documentation of findings and recommendations, and help identify opportunities to strengthen controls.
- Ensure year-round audit readiness rather than preparing documentation only during audit periods.

Required Qualifications
- 1–2+ years of experience in audit support, accounting, finance, or financial operations.
- Proven experience preparing or reviewing financial documentation and reconciliations.
- Strong proficiency in Excel or Google Sheets, including Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, and data organization.
- Familiarity with accounting or ERP systems such as QuickBooks, NetSuite, SAP, or Oracle.
- Exceptional attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple deadlines simultaneously.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Ability to handle confidential financial information responsibly and work remotely during U.S. business hours.
- Strong follow-up discipline and investigative skills to identify and resolve discrepancies.

Preferred Qualifications and Benefits
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Experience supporting internal or external audit teams, including public accounting or corporate finance exposure.
- Knowledge of SOX, PCAOB requirements, GAAP, IFRS, and internal control frameworks such as COSO or ISO.
- Experience preparing PBC schedules or directly responding to auditor requests.
- Opportunity for hands-on exposure to audits, financial controls, and compliance in a fully remote environment.
- Career progression potential into roles such as Senior Audit Associate, Internal Auditor, Staff or Senior Accountant, Financial Analyst, or Audit & Compliance positions.

Candidates will undergo a multi-step interview process including a phone screen, video interview, practical task (account reconciliation or mock audit schedule), client interview, and background verification. Qualified applicants will be invited to complete a one-way video interview to showcase their experience in audit support, reconciliations, and compliance.

This role is ideal for individuals who enjoy structured, detail-oriented financial work, take ownership of documentation, and thrive under deadlines. If you are analytical, organized, and reliable, this position offers a strong foundation to build your career in audit and finance.
