CarAdvisers is seeking a skilled Automotive Videographer & Editor for a part-time role based in Islamabad or Rawalpindi. This position requires a hands-on professional who can independently manage the entire video production process, from planning and shooting to editing and delivering polished, social-media-ready automotive content. The role involves approximately equal parts of video shooting and editing, with a strong emphasis on on-location production. The ideal candidate will be comfortable operating cameras and production equipment, setting up lighting and audio, directing vehicle movements, and crafting engaging video content focused on cars and motorbikes.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, shoot, edit, and deliver complete automotive video content for CarAdvisers.
- Film professional car and motorbike reviews, walkarounds, showroom visits, launches, and events.
- Capture a variety of shots including interior, exterior, detail, B-roll, and dynamic moving footage.
- Execute professional camera angles, compositions, and movements.
- Operate cameras, smartphones, gimbals, tripods, and other shooting equipment.
- Use drones where legally permitted and appropriate.
- Set up and manage lighting for both indoor and outdoor shoots.
- Handle microphones, headphones, audio recorders, and voice-recording devices.
- Adjust camera settings such as exposure, focus, white balance, and frame rates.
- Adapt to changing sunlight, shadows, weather, and outdoor conditions.
- Plan and direct vehicle positioning and movement for optimal shots.
- Capture tracking, rolling, driving, and dynamic vehicle sequences.
- Shoot presenter-led content, interviews, podcasts, and other on-camera productions.
- Organize and manage shoots from location setup to final footage review.
- Review, organize, and manage raw footage post-shoot.
- Edit footage into engaging Reels, Shorts, and other social-media formats.
- Add captions, transitions, sound design, music, color correction, and audio enhancements.
- Incorporate motion graphics and visual effects as needed.
- Deliver final content in both 9:16 and 16:9 formats, ready for posting.
- Take full responsibility for the workflow from shooting through to final approved content.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 1 year of professional video shooting experience.
- Strong practical experience in automotive videography is highly preferred.
- Ability to independently plan and execute shoots on location.
- Solid understanding of cameras, lenses, framing, composition, and camera movement.
- Practical experience shooting cars and motorbikes.
- Familiarity with gimbals, tripods, lighting, microphones, and other production equipment.
- Drone operation experience is an advantage.
- Ability to work effectively with natural light and outdoor conditions.
- Knowledge of vehicle positioning, movement, and safe filming practices.
- Proficiency in capturing professional B-roll, detail shots, rolling shots, and dynamic sequences.
- Strong audio recording skills for interviews, voiceovers, and on-location content.
- Ability to direct and organize shoots independently without constant supervision.
- Proficient video editing skills using Adobe Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve, Final Cut Pro, CapCut, or similar software.
- Motion graphics skills using After Effects or equivalent.
- Experience turning raw automotive footage into polished social-media content.
- Knowledge of color correction, audio editing, captions, transitions, and sound design.
- Ability to independently edit footage from raw files through to final export.
- Capability to create content in both vertical (9:16) and horizontal (16:9) formats.
- Own camera and/or professional smartphone shooting equipment.
- Access to lenses, gimbal, tripod, basic lighting, microphones, and audio-recording gear.
- Preferably own a high-performance editing PC or laptop suitable for professional video editing.
- Ability to operate, manage, and maintain shooting equipment independently.
Preferred Qualifications and Benefits
- Experience in car and motorbike reviews, dealership and showroom content.
- Background in automotive brand content, auto shows, launches, exhibitions, and events.
- Skilled in driving and rolling-shot production.
- Experience producing interviews, podcasts, and automotive-focused Reels, Shorts, and YouTube content.
- This is a local, part-time position requiring availability 2–3 days per week or as needed for on-site and field assignments.
- Candidates primarily focused on editing without hands-on shooting experience are not suitable for this role.
