We are seeking an experienced Integration Engineer with a strong background in Axway API Management to lead the design, development, configuration, and support of API-based integration solutions. This role focuses on enabling secure and efficient communication between enterprise applications, cloud platforms, and external systems. The ideal candidate will have expertise in API management, integration patterns, security protocols, and middleware technologies to build scalable and reliable connectivity solutions. Collaboration with development teams, architects, and business stakeholders is essential to deliver effective API integrations that drive data exchange, automation, and digital transformation initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) on Axway API Management and integration solutions, guiding technical decisions and best practices.
- Lead the design, development, configuration, and implementation of API integrations using Axway API Gateway and related tools.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including development, architecture, cloud, and business units to ensure seamless integration delivery.
- Develop and manage RESTful and SOAP-based APIs, including API policies, routing, security configurations, and data transformations.
- Configure and maintain Axway API Gateway components to ensure secure, reliable API communication.
- Implement API lifecycle management processes such as publishing, monitoring, versioning, governance, and ongoing support.
- Troubleshoot and resolve API failures, connectivity issues, performance bottlenecks, and production incidents promptly.
- Drive continuous improvements to enhance API performance, reliability, automation, scalability, and operational efficiency.
- Mentor junior team members on API integration concepts, Axway tools, troubleshooting techniques, and industry best practices.
Required Qualifications:
- Minimum of 6 years of hands-on experience with the Axway API Management Platform, including API Gateway and API Manager.
- Strong proficiency in designing and implementing RESTful and SOAP-based APIs.
- Deep understanding of API security mechanisms such as authentication, authorization, OAuth, digital certificates, and encryption.
- Experience with API policies, transformations, routing, mediation, and service orchestration.
- Solid knowledge of enterprise integration patterns, middleware concepts, and cloud integration architectures.
- Ability to analyze logs, troubleshoot API issues, and optimize performance effectively.
- Familiarity with JSON, XML, XML schemas, HTTP protocols, and web services.
- Working knowledge of Agile methodologies, SDLC processes, version control, and deployment best practices.
- Understanding of API monitoring, governance, and operational support frameworks.
- Educational qualification of at least 15 years of full-time education.
Additional Information:
- This role requires a minimum of 5 years of professional experience, with at least 6 years specifically on the Axway API Management Platform.
- The position is based in Hyderabad.
