Azure AI Apps & Agents Engineer

Vurke is building a global technology-delivery network that supports Microsoft partners, systems integrators, consulting firms, and enterprise clients by providing scalable implementation capacity for complex projects. Unlike traditional recruitment agencies, Vurke’s specialists embed directly within delivery teams on international client engagements. The company focuses on creating a pre-vetted talent pool with expertise in Microsoft AI, Copilot, Power Platform, Azure AI, data, and integration to support projects across North America, the UK, and Europe.

Key Responsibilities
Develop AI-infused applications and agents using Microsoft Foundry and Azure AI services, including generative AI, language, document, and vision workloads. Implement generative AI features such as agents, retrieval, tool use, and workflow integration. Build solutions leveraging Azure AI Search, Document Intelligence, Language, Speech, Vision, or other Azure AI capabilities as required. Integrate AI models and services into production applications and APIs, ensuring secure authentication, secrets management, networking, and data-access patterns. Design evaluation frameworks to guarantee quality, safety, relevance, and desired business outcomes. Optimize model selection, throughput, latency, and cost efficiency. Implement monitoring, telemetry, error handling, and operational diagnostics. Collaborate closely with solution architects, data engineers, DevOps/MLOps engineers, and security teams. Produce technical documentation and support client demonstrations and implementation handovers.

Required Qualifications
A minimum of four years’ experience in software or cloud engineering is essential, with at least two years focused on hands-on implementation of Azure AI or generative AI solutions. Strong programming skills in Python and/or C# are required. Candidates should have practical experience with Microsoft Foundry, Azure AI, and Azure OpenAI services. A solid understanding of Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), agents, APIs, identity management, and cloud deployment is necessary. Proficiency in software engineering best practices, including Git, testing, continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD), and code review, is expected. The ability to clearly explain technical trade-offs and architectural decisions to clients and architects is critical.

Preferred Qualifications and Benefits
Experience with Azure AI Search, Document Intelligence, Language, Speech, or Vision services is highly desirable. Familiarity with Copilot Studio or Power Platform integration adds value. Knowledge of containerized deployment technologies such as Azure Container Apps or Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) is beneficial. Holding the Azure AI Apps and Agents Developer Associate certification (AI-103) is strongly preferred, while the AB-620 certification is valuable for candidates focused on integrated agent solutions.

Vurke evaluates candidates based on demonstrated delivery of projects where they played a key role, technical depth in Microsoft technologies, clarity in explaining architecture and production challenges, client-facing communication skills in English, ability to work independently within distributed teams, realistic rate expectations, and availability aligned with client time zones in North America, the UK, or Europe.

Engagement Model
This is a fully remote, contract/project-based opportunity with varying project durations depending on client needs. Candidates may be located globally but must be able to overlap with required client time zones. The selection process may include client interviews and technical assessments. Some assignments require partial overlap with US, UK, or European business hours. Joining the Vurke talent network does not guarantee project assignment, as deployment depends on client demand, technical fit, availability, and commercial agreement.
