We are looking for a talented Backend Developer with strong expertise in designing, building, and maintaining scalable, high-performance backend systems using Node.js within a microservices architecture. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing robust APIs, managing both MongoDB and PostgreSQL databases, ensuring system reliability, and collaborating closely with frontend developers, DevOps engineers, and product teams to deliver high-quality software products.
Key Responsibilities
Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services using Node.js, focusing on modularity, reusability, and fault tolerance in a microservices environment. Build and expose secure, well-documented RESTful and GraphQL APIs following API-first design principles. Implement event-driven architectures using message brokers such as RabbitMQ, Kafka, or Azure Service Bus to enable asynchronous communication between microservices. Design and optimize data models and queries for MongoDB and PostgreSQL, ensuring high performance, data integrity, and scalability. Implement authentication and authorization mechanisms including OAuth2, JWT, and OpenID Connect, applying security best practices across services and APIs. Optimize application performance through caching strategies like Redis, query optimization, load balancing, and efficient resource utilization. Troubleshoot and resolve production incidents, conduct root cause analysis, and implement preventive measures to maintain high availability and minimize downtime. Conduct code reviews, mentor junior developers, and contribute to architectural decisions and technical standards. Collaborate with frontend developers, DevOps engineers, product managers, and QA teams to define requirements, design solutions, and deliver features on schedule. Stay updated with the latest backend technologies, tools, and best practices, and proactively suggest improvements to system architecture.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Software Development or a related field. Minimum of 2 years of hands-on experience in backend development using Node.js, with frameworks such as Express, NestJS, or Fastify preferred. Strong experience in building and maintaining microservices and API-driven applications. Expertise in MongoDB, including aggregation pipelines, indexing, and schema design. Proficiency in PostgreSQL with advanced SQL knowledge, transaction management, and query optimization. Solid understanding of event-driven architecture and message queue systems like RabbitMQ or Kafka. Experience with Azure cloud services, including App Service, Functions, AKS, API Management, and Cosmos DB. Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps or similar platforms. Proficient in building and securing REST and GraphQL APIs. Strong knowledge of authentication and authorization protocols such as JWT and OAuth2. Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to debug complex issues in distributed systems. Effective communication skills and experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
Preferred Qualifications and Benefits
Experience with containerization technologies like Docker and orchestration tools such as Kubernetes is highly desirable. This position offers a full-time, in-person work opportunity. The role includes a competitive monthly salary ranging from Rs100,000 to Rs150,000.
