Backend Developer (PHP)

Consecutive Bytes is seeking a skilled and motivated Backend Developer to join our dynamic development team. The ideal candidate will have a solid grasp of server-side programming, database management, API development, and application security. This role involves developing, maintaining, and optimizing reliable, scalable, and high-performance web applications that meet business needs and user expectations. The successful candidate will work closely with frontend developers and designers to deliver seamless and secure backend solutions.

Key Responsibilities
- Develop, maintain, and optimize server-side applications and backend systems to ensure high performance and scalability.
- Build and manage RESTful APIs for frontend integration and third-party services.
- Design, manage, and optimize MySQL databases, including query optimization and database relationships.
- Implement secure authentication, authorization, and data validation mechanisms to protect applications.
- Write clean, reusable, and maintainable code following best practices and coding standards.
- Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve bugs, performance bottlenecks, and technical challenges promptly.
- Collaborate effectively with frontend developers, UI/UX designers, and other team members to deliver integrated solutions.
- Maintain existing applications while continuously implementing new features and improvements.
- Adhere to version control workflows and security best practices throughout the development lifecycle.

Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
- 1 to 3 years of professional experience in backend development.
- Strong proficiency in PHP with practical experience using Laravel or similar backend frameworks.
- Good understanding of MySQL, including database design, relationships, and query optimization techniques.
- Experience working with REST APIs, JSON, and integrating third-party APIs.
- Knowledge of MVC architecture, authentication methods, and application security principles.
- Familiarity with Git and other version control systems.
- Strong problem-solving, debugging, and analytical skills.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.
