Baking & Pastry Chef - Continental (Mizaaj Restaurant)

Mizaaj Restaurant is seeking a talented and experienced Baking & Pastry Chef to join our culinary team in Karachi. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in preparing a wide range of bakery and pastry items, ensuring high standards of quality, taste, and presentation. This full-time role requires a professional who can work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment while maintaining excellent food hygiene and safety practices.

Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and produce a variety of breads, pastries, cakes, desserts, and other bakery items.
- Manage all stages of production including mixing, proofing, baking, decorating, and finishing according to established recipes and quality standards.
- Maintain consistency in taste, texture, presentation, and portion sizes for all products.
- Ensure proper mise en place and timely production to meet service demands.
- Uphold high standards of food hygiene, cleanliness, and kitchen safety at all times.
- Monitor ingredient usage to minimize waste, and maintain proper storage and stock rotation procedures.
- Operate and maintain bakery equipment safely and efficiently.
- Assist in the development of new bakery and pastry items aligned with business goals.
- Adhere strictly to company Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and food safety regulations.

Required Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Baking & Pastry Chef, Pastry Chef, or Bakery Chef.
- Strong knowledge of baking techniques, pastry preparation, and dessert production.
- Experience working in a restaurant, hotel, bakery, or commercial kitchen environment is preferred.
- Good understanding of food safety and hygiene practices.
- Creative and detail-oriented with the ability to maintain consistent product quality.
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced kitchen setting.
- Excellent teamwork and time-management skills.
