We are seeking a detail-oriented Demand Planning Analyst to support our demand planning functions by estimating future product demand, analyzing inventory flow, and developing accurate forecast models. The ideal candidate will collaborate with cross-functional teams and key accounts to ensure effective planning, forecasting, and replenishment activities. This role requires strong analytical skills, the ability to communicate insights clearly, and a proactive approach to identifying and resolving forecast-related issues.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform all demand planning duties including estimating future product demand, analyzing promotional uplifts, and monitoring inventory flow.
- Plan, schedule, and manage CPFR (collaborative planning, forecasting, and replenishment) activities for key accounts as assigned.
- Design and deliver analysis on key performance indicators (KPIs), communicating findings to internal and external stakeholders and initiating corrective actions when necessary.
- Develop a comprehensive understanding of customer behavior, product mix, and promotional trends to inform forecasting.
- Create and refine forecast models based on industry trends and demand patterns to improve forecast accuracy.
- Propose and implement solutions to enhance demand forecast precision.
- Communicate forecast and inventory estimations effectively to key stakeholders.
- Conduct weekly forecast maintenance and promptly address demand-related issues.
- Generate and analyze reports to manage unique forecasts and identify exceptions.
- Investigate forecast errors through root cause analysis and adjust models accordingly.
- Prepare forecasts and present findings in Sales & Operations Execution (S&OE) meetings.
- Manage large data sets, following established procedures for importing and exporting data into forecasting systems.
- Train new analysts on systems and processes as needed.
- Collaborate in a cross-functional environment to develop and test forecasting tools.
- Review forecast outputs and provide recommendations for model adjustments.
- Work effectively both independently and within team settings.
- Develop and document Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in business, supply chain management, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in demand planning or forecasting roles.
- Strong understanding of inventory management principles and practices.
- Proven collaborative problem-solving skills.
- Solid mathematical and statistical knowledge.
- Ability to multitask and perform effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in customer language requirements, both written and oral.
- Willingness to work during customer-required business hours.
- Strong aptitude for quickly learning new software and concepts.
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and familiarity with Microsoft Office 365.
- Experience with forecasting software.
- Exposure to various industry sectors.
Preferred Qualifications and Additional Skills
- Experience with programming languages such as Python and SQL is a plus.
- Demonstrated knowledge of artificial intelligence applications and deploying AI-driven solutions to improve business processes.
