Business Development Manager - Import

The Business Development Manager - Import will play a pivotal role in driving the growth and expansion of Scan-Shipping’s commercial operations. This senior position combines strategic planning with hands-on execution to increase the company’s market presence, particularly in the export sector. The role involves acquiring and managing key clients, leveraging market intelligence to shape revenue strategies, and providing leadership and mentorship to junior team members to ensure smooth operations and high performance. The ideal candidate will be proactive, able to work independently, and possess a strong understanding of both local and international freight forwarding regulations.

Key Responsibilities
- Drive volume development and execute sales strategies to meet business targets.
- Manage and nurture client relationships to ensure long-term partnerships and customer satisfaction.
- Oversee operational processes and documentation to maintain accuracy and compliance.
- Prepare regular reports and maintain digital discipline for transparency and performance tracking.
- Gather and analyze market intelligence to inform strategic decisions and identify new business opportunities.
- Lead, mentor, and support junior team members to enhance team productivity and professional growth.
- Ensure adherence to administrative and regulatory compliance requirements.

Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business Management, Marketing, or a related field.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- Strong networking skills with established connections among freight forwarders in the market.
- Comprehensive knowledge of local and international governmental regulations, customs procedures, ocean freight, and hazardous cargo handling.
- Ability to prioritize tasks effectively, work independently, and achieve objectives with minimal supervision.
- Quick learner with adaptability to evolving business needs.
