We are currently seeking a dedicated professional to manage the 24-hour operational dark store, ensuring seamless warehouse operations and maintaining high standards of service.
Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the dark store operations on-site, with a daily minimum presence of 6-8 hours and ongoing virtual coordination with the team outside of these hours. This role involves overseeing the entire warehouse process, from inbound receipt of goods to stock handling, storage, and timely order dispatch.
You will be expected to drive warehouse operations to meet agreed Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs). This includes proactively recommending and implementing operational goals, objectives, and process improvements to enhance efficiency and service quality.
Ensuring compliance with Workplace Safety & Health (WSH) procedures is critical. The role requires conducting periodic safety and health risk assessments to maintain a safe working environment. Resource allocation and scheduling will be managed to optimize operational efficiency.
Collaboration with the commercial department is essential to manage inventory effectively, including fast and slow-moving items, spoilage, wastage, shrinkage, and the processing of returns, refunds, damaged, and expired goods. Accurate and timely stock takes must be conducted regularly, with physical and system stock variations kept within acceptable limits.
You will also coordinate periodic maintenance of the facilities and escalate any issues to the Realty Facility Manager. Maintaining warehouse housekeeping and workplace safety standards is a continuous responsibility. Ensuring 100% accuracy in order dispatch and preventing delivery of damaged or expired products is paramount.
Building and maintaining positive relationships with external stakeholders such as neighbors, suppliers, and foodpanda riders is also part of the role.
Required Qualifications
Candidates must hold a Bachelor’s degree from a reputable university. A strong understanding of operations and foundational principles such as supply chain management, customer service, Just-In-Time (JIT) inventory, and Six Sigma methodologies is essential.
Familiarity with local industry legislation and regulations is required. Experience in stakeholder management, including coordination with vendor delivery teams, residential and commercial neighbors, and the wider community, is important.
Candidates should have working knowledge of performance and operational metrics, as well as proficiency with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), demand forecasting, and stock replenishment tools.
Excellent manpower planning and scheduling skills are necessary, including managing off days, leaves, absences, and fluctuating demand. The ideal candidate will be self-motivated, capable of working independently, and possess outstanding communication and interpersonal skills.
