Chartered Accountant / Group Finance Manager

We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Chartered Accountant to oversee the accounting and financial management of multiple businesses. This role involves managing daily bookkeeping, maintaining financial controls, delivering accurate reports, and providing management with clear financial insights. The successful candidate will handle dealer commission calculations and payouts, verify supplier invoices, manage expenses, perform reconciliations, oversee payroll, prepare budgets, and support audit processes. The ideal professional is detail-oriented, analytical, proactive, and comfortable working directly with transactional data while maintaining a comprehensive view of the financial health across various entities.

Key Responsibilities

Accounting, Bookkeeping, and Reconciliation
Maintain accurate and up-to-date accounting records for each business, ensuring clear separation of transactions and supporting documentation. Manage accounts payable and receivable, general ledger entries, accruals, prepayments, and intercompany transactions. Reconcile bank accounts, credit cards, payment processors, and other financial accounts. Complete monthly and annual financial closings, promptly investigating and resolving discrepancies. Monitor outstanding receivables, supplier balances, and payment obligations.

Dealer Commissions and Payouts
Calculate and verify dealer commissions, incentives, bonuses, and residual payments in line with approved agreements. Reconcile carrier and partner statements against internal activation, refill, transaction, and dealer records. Verify payout eligibility, cancellations, reversals, chargebacks, and adjustments before preparing payments. Prepare accurate dealer payout schedules and statements, secure necessary approvals, and track payments through completion. Investigate commission discrepancies and resolve payout queries with sales, operations, dealers, and carrier partners. Maintain detailed records of commission calculations, approvals, and payments.

Supplier Invoices and Expense Management
Review supplier invoices against purchase orders, agreed prices, quantities received, shipping charges, and payment terms. Identify duplicate invoices, incorrect charges, missing credits, and other discrepancies prior to payment. Reconcile supplier statements and follow up on refunds, credits, returns, and outstanding balances. Verify operating expenses including advertising, shipping, software subscriptions, contractor fees, and other business costs. Reconcile e-commerce sales, refunds, discounts, taxes collected, payment processing fees, chargebacks, and bank settlements. Collaborate with relevant teams to review inventory records, valuation, cost of goods sold, and product margins.

Payroll and Team Payments
Prepare and verify payroll including salaries, bonuses, commissions, reimbursements, deductions, and adjustments. Coordinate with management and HR to confirm employee changes, attendance, and payment approvals. Ensure timely and accurate processing of salaries and other team payments. Maintain confidential payroll records and reconcile payroll expenses and liabilities. Manage payroll filings and obligations in coordination with external providers or advisors.

Financial Reporting, Budgeting, and Cash Flow Management
Prepare monthly profit and loss statements, balance sheets, cash flow reports, and management summaries for each business. Provide consolidated management views of overall performance. Develop budgets and cash flow forecasts, tracking actual results against projections. Monitor profitability, working capital, upcoming payments, and cash requirements. Highlight unusual expenses, revenue discrepancies, financial risks, and opportunities to improve margins or reduce costs.

Audits, Controls, and Compliance
Conduct regular internal financial reviews and maintain audit-ready records. Coordinate external audits, tax preparation, and filings with qualified advisors. Establish and enhance processes for purchasing, expense claims, payroll, commissions, and payment approvals. Maintain appropriate approval controls and segregation of duties for payment preparation, authorization, and reconciliation. Develop documented accounting procedures to improve reporting accuracy and efficiency.

Required Qualifications

Fully qualified Chartered Accountant from a recognized professional accounting body. Minimum of five years’ relevant accounting and finance experience, including managing multiple businesses or entities. Strong expertise in bookkeeping, financial reporting, reconciliations, payroll, accounts payable, and audit preparation. Proven ability to accurately manage commission calculations and large transaction volumes. Proficiency with accounting software such as QuickBooks or Xero, along with advanced Microsoft Excel skills. Excellent analytical judgment, attention to detail, confidentiality, and professional integrity. Ability to meet deadlines, independently investigate discrepancies, and communicate financial information clearly to management.

Preferred Qualifications and Experience

Experience supporting U.S.-based businesses and coordinating with U.S. tax and accounting advisors. Background in telecommunications, dealer or distributor networks, retail, or e-commerce sectors. Familiarity with Shopify, payment gateway settlements, inventory accounting, and commission management systems. Experience improving accounting processes and supervising finance or bookkeeping staff.
