The Intellect School in Karachi is looking for a dedicated and experienced Chemistry Teacher to join the Senior Girls Section on a full-time, permanent basis. The successful candidate will teach Grade IX Chemistry following the Cambridge O Level curriculum. This role involves delivering engaging lessons that build students’ conceptual understanding and practical skills, preparing them for examinations, and supporting the school’s commitment to Islamic values and Shariah-compliant policies.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver well-structured Chemistry lessons aligned with the Cambridge O Level syllabus.
- Clearly explain chemical concepts, principles, equations, and reactions using effective teaching methods.
- Foster students’ analytical thinking, problem-solving abilities, and scientific inquiry skills.
- Conduct practical experiments and demonstrations while adhering to laboratory safety protocols.
- Prepare students for internal assessments and external exams through revision sessions, past paper practice, and exam techniques.
- Develop comprehensive lesson plans, teaching materials, assessments, and revision resources.
- Monitor student progress by assessing notebooks and written work, providing constructive feedback.
- Maintain accurate records of attendance, academic performance, and progress reports.
- Create an engaging and interactive classroom environment that encourages curiosity and participation.
- Collaborate with the Science Department and laboratory staff to enhance practical learning experiences.
- Fulfill class teacher duties, including supervision during morning, home-time, and prayer-time as assigned.
- Conduct substitution classes when required.
- Participate actively in faculty meetings, professional development sessions, and school events.
- Communicate effectively with parents, students, and school administration regarding academic progress.
- Uphold the school’s Islamic values, moral standards, and Shariah-compliant policies.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the O Level Coordinator.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Chemistry or a related field.
- B.Ed., PGCE, or an equivalent teaching qualification is preferred.
- A minimum of 3 to 5 years of teaching experience in Chemistry, with preference given to candidates experienced in Cambridge O Level teaching.
- Strong subject knowledge, including practical Chemistry and laboratory safety.
- Excellent communication, classroom management, and organizational skills.
- Commitment to the school’s Islamic values and educational philosophy.
Preferred Qualifications and Benefits
