Civil Engineer

Xinhua Mall, located in Gulberg III, Lahore, is seeking a skilled and experienced Civil Engineer to join our team on a full-time basis. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing all civil maintenance, construction, repair, and renovation activities within the commercial building. This role requires strong technical expertise, hands-on site supervision experience, and the ability to ensure that all civil works comply with approved drawings, quality standards, safety protocols, and project deadlines.

Key Responsibilities

- Supervise daily civil engineering tasks including maintenance, repairs, and renovation activities.
- Inspect building structures such as walls, floors, ceilings, roofs, drainage systems, and other civil infrastructure components.
- Monitor the work of contractors, subcontractors, and site labor to ensure quality workmanship.
- Review civil drawings, Bills of Quantities (BOQs), technical specifications, and project documentation.
- Prepare estimates, material requirements, BOQs, and cost assessments related to civil works.
- Conduct regular inspections to identify structural defects, cracks, seepage, leakage, and other maintenance issues.
- Coordinate with MEP, electrical, HVAC, procurement, and other engineering departments to ensure smooth project execution.
- Ensure timely completion of civil maintenance and renovation projects.
- Verify materials and workmanship against approved specifications and quality standards.
- Prepare daily progress reports, inspection reports, and maintain accurate maintenance records.
- Enforce compliance with site safety procedures and applicable building regulations.
- Liaise with contractors and vendors regarding quotations, work orders, and project execution.
- Monitor material consumption, labor productivity, and project expenditures.
- Respond promptly to emergency civil maintenance requests and resolve issues efficiently.
- Maintain proper documentation of completed works and pending maintenance activities.

Required Qualifications

- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from an HEC-recognized university.
- Minimum of 3 to 5 years of relevant experience in civil engineering, building maintenance, or construction projects.
- Experience working with commercial buildings, shopping malls, hotels, or high-rise structures is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of civil construction, finishing works, waterproofing, plumbing-related civil tasks, and building maintenance.
- Ability to read and interpret civil drawings, BOQs, and technical specifications accurately.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and MS Office; familiarity with estimation and project management software is an advantage.
- Demonstrated skills in site supervision, contractor management, cost estimation, and quality control.
- Excellent communication, coordination, reporting, and problem-solving abilities.
- Capability to manage multiple maintenance tasks simultaneously and meet deadlines.
- PEC registration will be considered an asset where applicable.

Preferred Qualifications and Benefits

Candidates with hands-on experience in mall operations, commercial building maintenance, renovation, and civil infrastructure management will be given preference. The position offers a competitive monthly salary ranging from Rs. 100,000 to Rs. 150,000. The work location requires in-person attendance at Xinhua Mall, Gulberg III, Lahore.
