Cloud Infrastructure & Integration Engineer

We are seeking a Backend & Cloud Technical Support Engineer to join our remote team based in Pakistan. This full-time role requires working eight hours daily from Monday to Friday, aligned with Eastern Standard Time (EST). The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience supporting and improving backend infrastructure and cloud environments built with Next.js, Python, TypeScript, React, and Google Cloud Platform (GCP). Immediate availability is preferred, and compensation will be commensurate with experience. This position offers the opportunity to work on production reliability, system integrations, and application scaling within a dynamic engineering environment.

Key Responsibilities

- Troubleshoot backend, cloud infrastructure, integration, and production issues to ensure system stability.
- Build, maintain, and support backend services using Python and TypeScript.
- Support server-side functionality within Next.js applications.
- Develop and maintain REST APIs and third-party integrations.
- Investigate failed integrations, API errors, timeouts, and data synchronization problems.
- Maintain and optimize services hosted on Google Cloud Platform.
- Identify infrastructure bottlenecks and improve system scalability.
- Monitor application health, logs, errors, performance, and service availability.
- Perform root-cause analysis and implement long-term fixes to prevent recurrence.
- Enhance error handling, retries, logging, alerts, and overall system observability.
- Support production deployments, environment configuration, and troubleshoot release issues.
- Collaborate with frontend and product teams to resolve end-to-end technical challenges.
- Document incidents, technical decisions, integrations, and support procedures clearly.
- Communicate progress, risks, and blockers effectively to international stakeholders.

Required Qualifications

- Professional experience in backend development or production support roles.
- Strong hands-on expertise with Python and TypeScript.
- Experience supporting backend functionality in Next.js applications.
- Working knowledge of React and frontend-to-backend communication patterns.
- Practical experience with Google Cloud Platform services.
- Proven ability to build, maintain, and troubleshoot APIs and third-party integrations.
- Solid understanding of production infrastructure and application deployment processes.
- Ability to diagnose and resolve performance, reliability, and scalability issues.
- Strong debugging, root-cause analysis, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience using Git and following structured development workflows.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Professional proficiency in English with clear written and verbal communication skills.
- Availability to work full-time, Monday to Friday, aligned with EST hours.

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience with GCP services such as Cloud Run, Cloud Functions, Compute Engine, GKE, Cloud SQL, Pub/Sub, or Cloud Storage.
- Familiarity with Docker and containerized deployments.
- Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure-as-code tools.
- Experience with monitoring, logging, tracing, and alerting systems.
- Skills in database troubleshooting and query optimization.
- Understanding of authentication and authorization mechanisms.
- Experience supporting high-traffic or rapidly scaling applications.
- Proven ability to manage incidents in live production environments.
- Prior experience working with international clients or distributed engineering teams.
