This role involves diagnosing and resolving electrical and mechanical faults, ensuring the reliable operation of electrical systems, and performing routine and preventative maintenance on various equipment. The successful candidate will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and upgrading wiring, lighting, and electrical control systems, with a particular focus on standby generator systems. Troubleshooting, diagnostic testing, load-bank testing, and commissioning new generators will also be key aspects of the job. Accurate documentation and record-keeping of all maintenance activities and inventory levels are essential to support operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
- Diagnose faults and resolve electrical and mechanical problems efficiently.
- Monitor electrical supplies and perform preventative maintenance to avoid system failures.
- Install, maintain, and upgrade wiring, lighting, and electrical control systems.
- Conduct preventative maintenance and repairs on standby generator systems and related equipment.
- Perform troubleshooting, diagnostic testing, load-bank testing, and generator start-ups.
- Adjust controls to generate specified electrical power and regulate power flow.
- Install, test, and commission new generators and associated equipment.
- Conduct routine tests on electrical and mechanical systems, repairing or replacing components as necessary.
- Document all servicing information accurately and maintain detailed records of work performed and inventory levels.
Required Qualifications:
- Diploma of Associate Engineering (DAE) in Mechanical or an equivalent qualification from a recognized institute.
- 1 to 3 years of relevant experience or a combination of education and practical training in the field.
- Strong foundation in mechanical and electrical systems related to generators, switchgear, UPS systems, and ATS units.
Preferred Qualifications and Benefits:
- Intermediate level education is preferred.
- Experience in mechanical maintenance or CNC operations for at least 3 years is advantageous.
