We are currently seeking a senior engineering professional for the role of Coastal Resilience & Water Resources Specialist based in Hyderabad, Pakistan. This position will provide technical leadership in coastal resilience, water resources management, flood risk reduction, climate adaptation, and infrastructure development. The successful candidate will play a key role in ongoing and upcoming climate resilience and water-related initiatives, contributing to sustainable and resilient infrastructure solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead technical aspects of coastal resilience, flood mitigation, and water resources projects, including planning, design, review, and implementation.
- Develop and integrate engineering solutions that align with environmental sustainability and ecosystem-based approaches.
- Conduct technical reviews, quality assurance, feasibility studies, and design management for complex infrastructure programs.
- Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams, clients, government agencies, contractors, and other stakeholders.
- Provide expert guidance on coastal infrastructure, erosion control, shoreline stabilization, and climate adaptation strategies.
- Support project delivery in compliance with international standards and donor requirements, particularly for projects funded by development agencies or multilateral financial institutions.
- Drive stakeholder engagement and maintain clear communication channels to ensure project objectives are met.
Required Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Coastal Engineering, Water Resources, Hydrology, Civil Engineering, Coastal Zone Management, or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 20 years of professional experience in coastal engineering, water resources, flood mitigation, climate resilience, or related infrastructure sectors.
- At least 10 years of experience in the planning, design, review, and implementation of coastal protection, flood management, drainage, or resilience projects.
- In-depth knowledge of coastal processes, hydrology, drainage systems, flood risk management, and climate adaptation methodologies.
- Proven ability to integrate engineering solutions with environmental and resilience planning frameworks.
- Experience managing large-scale, complex infrastructure programs with a focus on quality assurance and technical excellence.
- Strong leadership, analytical, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.
