Commercial Officer (Contractual)

DP World NLC Logistics (Pvt.) Limited is looking for a motivated and customer-oriented Commercial Officer to support the growth of our Dedicated Freight Corridor and Multimodal Logistics Park at the Pipri marshalling area. This contractual role involves managing client relationships, overseeing commercial documentation, and ensuring smooth terminal-to-rail logistics operations. The successful candidate will serve as a crucial link between the commercial team, service providers, and internal operations, facilitating efficient shipment handling, timely issue resolution, and accurate revenue tracking.

Key Responsibilities

Customer Coordination & Relationship Management
Act as the primary liaison with customers to manage shipment procedures, container movements, and rail-freight connections. Promptly address and resolve customer inquiries, complaints, and operational challenges to maintain high satisfaction and foster long-term partnerships.

Commercial Documentation & Agreements
Prepare, review, and support commercial documents, including contracts, service-level agreements (SLAs), and railway handling paperwork. Maintain up-to-date records of customer accounts, rate sheets, and contractual terms to ensure clarity and compliance.

Service Orders & Revenue Monitoring
Oversee service orders, gate logs, and terminal-to-rail processing workflows to guarantee adherence to contractual commitments. Collaborate closely with billing and finance teams to monitor revenue activities, ensuring accurate billing for storage, handling, and rail transit services.

Business Development & Continuous Improvement
Support business development efforts, including client acquisition and market research, aimed at increasing terminal utilization and rail-freight volumes. Identify operational bottlenecks or service gaps and implement corrective and preventive measures to improve efficiency. Collect and analyze market intelligence and operational data to assist management in strategic decision-making.

Required Qualifications

Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Commerce, or a related discipline.

Experience:
A minimum of 2 to 4 years’ experience in commercial operations, customer service, or business development within port, dry port, shipping, or logistics/railway terminal environments.

Core Competencies:
Strong communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills are essential. The candidate should demonstrate excellent problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to resolving issues. Familiarity with terminal operating systems (TOS), supply chain documentation, and rail logistics procedures is required. Proficiency in MS Office applications, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint, is expected.
