DP World NLC Logistics (Pvt.) Limited is looking for a motivated and customer-oriented Commercial Officer to join our team on a contractual basis at the Pipri marshalling area. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in driving commercial growth, managing client relationships, and optimizing terminal-to-rail logistics operations for our Dedicated Freight Corridor and Multimodal Logistics Park. This position acts as a key liaison between the commercial team, service providers, and internal operations, ensuring smooth documentation, efficient shipment handling, prompt resolution of issues, and accurate revenue tracking.
Key Responsibilities
Customer Coordination & Relationship Management:
Serve as the main contact for customers, proactively managing procedural activities related to shipments, container movements, and rail-freight connections. Address customer queries, complaints, and operational challenges promptly to maintain high satisfaction levels and foster long-term partnerships.
Commercial Documentation & Agreements:
Prepare, review, and support the management of commercial documents, contracts, service-level agreements (SLAs), and railway handling paperwork. Ensure all customer accounts, rate sheets, and contractual obligations are accurately maintained and updated.
Service Orders & Revenue Monitoring:
Oversee service orders, gate logs, and terminal-to-rail processing workflows to guarantee compliance with contractual commitments. Collaborate closely with billing and finance teams to monitor revenue activities, ensuring precise billing for storage, handling, and rail transit services.
Business Development & Continuous Improvement:
Support business development efforts, including client acquisition and market research, to increase terminal utilization and rail-freight volumes. Identify operational bottlenecks or service gaps and implement innovative solutions to improve overall business performance. Collect and analyze market intelligence and operational data to provide actionable insights for strategic decision-making.
Required Qualifications
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Commerce, or a related discipline.
Experience:
2 to 4 years of relevant experience in commercial operations, customer service, or business development within port, dry port, shipping, logistics, or railway terminal environments.
Core Competencies:
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Strong problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to resolving issues.
- Knowledge of terminal operating systems (TOS), supply chain documentation, and rail logistics procedures.
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
