Accountree is seeking a Compliance Associate to join our accounting and professional services team. The ideal candidate will have 2 to 3 years of relevant experience, be ACCA qualified or actively progressing through the ACCA qualification, and possess a solid understanding of UK accounting and compliance requirements. This role demands excellent communication skills, strong attention to detail, and the ability to efficiently manage multiple clients, statutory deadlines, and compliance obligations.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and monitor statutory compliance requirements for UK-based companies and clients.
- Prepare and submit Companies House filings, including Confirmation Statements and other statutory forms.
- Assist with HMRC-related compliance activities, ensuring all deadlines are met.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date client compliance records and documentation.
- Monitor statutory deadlines and proactively follow up with clients and internal teams.
- Conduct and assist with AML/KYC checks and client due diligence processes.
- Support client onboarding by obtaining and maintaining all required compliance documentation.
- Maintain and update company information, including Persons with Significant Control (PSC) records.
- Review client information and documentation for completeness, accuracy, and compliance.
- Maintain compliance trackers and ensure timely completion of assigned tasks.
- Communicate professionally with UK-based clients regarding compliance requirements, missing information, and filing deadlines.
- Coordinate with accounting, tax, and bookkeeping teams to resolve compliance-related matters.
- Stay informed about changes in UK company law, Companies House requirements, HMRC regulations, and compliance procedures.
- Identify and escalate potential compliance issues or risks to the appropriate manager.
- Ensure all client information is handled with strict confidentiality.
- Perform other compliance-related duties as assigned by management.
Required Qualifications
- ACCA qualified or currently pursuing ACCA certification.
- 2 to 3 years of relevant professional experience in accounting, compliance, audit, tax, or within a UK accounting firm.
- Strong understanding of UK company compliance and statutory requirements.
- Familiarity with Companies House and HMRC processes.
- Basic to good knowledge of AML/KYC and client due diligence procedures.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to communicate professionally and effectively with UK-based clients.
