Computer Vision Engineer (Deep Learning & Python Backend)

Located in Faisal Town, Lahore, this on-site role offers an exciting opportunity for a Computer Vision Engineer with 1.5 to 3 years of professional experience. The position involves hands-on development and deployment of computer vision models, alongside building robust Python backend services. The successful candidate will work on end-to-end AI systems, focusing on image and video processing tasks such as object detection, segmentation, tracking, and visual recognition. This role requires strong expertise in Python backend development, deep learning frameworks, and practical experience integrating AI models into production environments. The salary range for this position is PKR 140,000 to 200,000 per month.

Key Responsibilities

- Design, develop, train, fine-tune, and evaluate computer vision and deep learning models tailored for real-world applications.
- Implement solutions involving object detection, image classification, segmentation, object tracking, OCR, and video processing.
- Utilize frameworks such as PyTorch, TensorFlow, OpenCV, and YOLO to build and optimize deep learning models and processing pipelines.
- Prepare and augment image and video datasets, including cleaning, annotation, and preprocessing for model training.
- Apply neural network architectures including CNNs and transfer learning techniques to improve model performance.
- Conduct experiments involving hyperparameter tuning, model evaluation using metrics like accuracy, precision, recall, F1-score, IoU, and mAP.
- Identify and resolve issues such as overfitting, underfitting, and dataset quality challenges.
- Optimize models for inference speed, memory usage, and latency.
- Develop and maintain Python backend services and RESTful APIs using FastAPI or similar frameworks.
- Integrate trained models into backend applications, handling asynchronous processing and data workflows.
- Manage relational databases such as PostgreSQL or MySQL for application and model-related data.
- Implement robust backend features including input validation, error handling, logging, and ensure reliable operations.
- Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested Python code.
- Debug and troubleshoot issues across model training, data pipelines, inference, and backend integration.
- Participate actively in code reviews, technical discussions, and collaborative development efforts.

Required Qualifications

- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, or a related field.
- Strictly 1.5 to 3 years (18–36 months) of professional experience; candidates outside this range will not be considered.
- Strong proficiency in Python programming, object-oriented design, data structures, and debugging.
- Solid understanding of computer vision fundamentals including image processing, feature extraction, object detection, classification, and segmentation.
- Hands-on experience with OpenCV and computer vision frameworks such as YOLO.
- Practical experience with deep learning frameworks like PyTorch or TensorFlow for model development and evaluation.
- Good knowledge of neural networks, CNNs, backpropagation, optimization algorithms, regularization, and transfer learning.
- Familiarity with core machine learning concepts including supervised/unsupervised learning, feature engineering, and model evaluation.
- Experience with Python libraries such as NumPy, Pandas, and Scikit-learn.
- Proven ability to prepare datasets, perform data augmentation, and analyze model performance.
- Understanding of evaluation metrics specific to computer vision tasks.
- Backend development experience using FastAPI or similar frameworks, including REST API design and asynchronous programming.
- Working knowledge of relational databases like PostgreSQL or MySQL.
- Experience with backend best practices such as error handling, logging, and ensuring application reliability.
- Proficiency with Git and collaborative software development workflows.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, debugging, and communication skills.
