The role focuses on ensuring all construction activities onsite are conducted safely and in compliance with relevant regulations. You will develop, implement, and oversee the construction safety program for employees, contractors, and visitors. This includes monitoring safety compliance, conducting training sessions, and investigating incidents to prevent recurrence. Additionally, you will manage the site contractor safety program, ensuring all contractors adhere to safety standards while working on premises or projects.

Key Responsibilities

Construction Safety Program Development
- Develop and update construction safety plans, policies, procedures, and programs to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
- Conduct risk assessments and hazard analyses to identify potential safety issues.

Permit to Work System and Contractor Management Development
- Develop and maintain the Permit to Work (PTW) system and contractor management processes in line with Haleon Global standards.
- Maintain a daily log of PTW issuance and perform site walks (gemba) to ensure safety compliance.
- Create and implement a contractor engagement plan to support contractor development.

Training and Education
- Deliver safety training to employees, contractors, and visitors.
- Ensure regular toolbox talks and safety meetings are conducted according to project plans.
- Promote awareness of safety protocols and emergency procedures among all personnel.

Site Inspections and Audits
- Conduct regular site inspections to verify compliance and identify hazards.
- Perform safety audits and report findings to management.
- Recommend and oversee corrective actions.

Incident Investigations and Reporting
- Investigate accidents, incidents, and near-misses to determine root causes.
- Prepare detailed incident reports and documentation.
- Implement corrective measures to prevent future occurrences.

Regulatory Compliance
- Stay informed on current safety regulations and industry best practices.
- Ensure all construction activities comply with OSHA, EPA, and other relevant standards.
- Maintain accurate records of safety activities and incidents.

Emergency Response
- Develop and implement emergency response plans.
- Coordinate emergency drills and training sessions.
- Serve as a first responder to onsite accidents and emergencies.

Communication
- Collaborate with project managers, site supervisors, and stakeholders to foster a strong safety culture.
- Communicate safety expectations and performance across all organizational levels.
- Liaise with regulatory agencies and external auditors as required.

Required Qualifications

- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- 4-6 years of experience in construction safety.
- Strong knowledge of safety and regulatory standards such as NFPA 70 and OSHA.
- NEBOSH International General Certificate (IGC) certification.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and collaboration skills, with the ability to engage effectively in multicultural environments.
