About the Role
Rise Roofers is looking for a Content Strategist to help plan, research, and prepare founder-led content for our social media and YouTube channels.
The purpose of this role is simple:
Muhammad should focus on his opinions, experiences, stories, observations, expertise, and recording the content.
The Content Strategist should handle most of what happens before recording:
Research → topic development → angles → hooks → structure → scripting → content planning The goal is not to create generic marketing content or simply use AI to generate scripts.
The goal is to help turn Muhammad’s real ideas, experiences, conversations, and expertise into content that is useful, interesting, and relevant to roofing contractors.
You do not need to already be an expert in the roofing industry. We will train you on Rise Roofers, our audience, our positioning, and the type of content we create.
Main Responsibilities
You will be responsible for:
- Researching topics relevant to roofing contractors, marketing, branding, sales, AI, technology, leadership, and business.
- Studying what roofing contractors are currently discussing, struggling with, interested in, or reacting to.
- Researching industry trends, competitors, creators, podcasts, social media conversations, comments, case studies, and other useful sources.
- Finding interesting angles instead of simply copying topics that are already popular.
- Turning Muhammad’s thoughts, experiences, client conversations, and observations into content ideas.
- Writing approximately
12–15 talking-head reel scripts per month
.
- Writing approximately
2–3 YouTube video scripts per month
, normally for videos around
5–7 minutes long
.
- Creating strong hooks and openings for short-form and long-form content.
- Structuring content so it sounds natural when spoken instead of sounding like an article or AI-generated script.
- Suggesting titles, angles, talking points, examples, and CTAs.
- Maintaining an organized content idea bank and content calendar.
- Reviewing previous content performance and identifying topics or formats worth repeating.
- Bringing new content ideas to the team instead of waiting for Muhammad to provide every topic.
- Working directly with the Video Editor where required to explain the idea, structure, visuals, screenshots, B-roll, graphics, or editing direction behind a video.
- Helping make sure the final content stays aligned with the original strategy.
Weekly Content Meeting
There will normally be a
30–45 minute content meeting with Muhammad once per week
.
During this meeting, Muhammad may share things such as:
- Something he noticed while talking to a roofing contractor
- A client problem
- An opinion about marketing
- Something happening in the roofing industry
- A story or experience
- A business lesson
- Something he disagrees with
- An idea that is not fully developed yet
Your responsibility will be to understand the idea, ask useful questions when necessary, research the topic, identify the strongest angle, and turn it into content that is ready to record.
Over time, you should become familiar enough with Muhammad’s thinking that less explanation and rewriting is required.
Monthly Deliverables
As a general target, the role will include:
- 12–15 talking-head reel scripts
- 2–3 YouTube video scripts
- YouTube title ideas
- Hooks and content angles
- Topic recommendations
- Supporting research, examples, statistics, case studies, or references where useful
- Monthly/weekly content planning
- Review of previous content performance
- New recommendations based on what is working
These numbers are guidelines rather than a requirement to produce content just for the sake of hitting a number.
Quality matters more than filling the calendar with average ideas.
What We Are Looking For The ideal person should:
- Be naturally curious and enjoy research.
- Have strong written English.
- Understand how social media and YouTube content works.
- Be able to write in a conversational way.
- Understand hooks, storytelling, attention, and audience psychology.
- Be able to research unfamiliar topics independently.
- Know how to use AI tools intelligently without depending on them for everything.
- Be able to distinguish between generic content and genuinely useful content.
- Be organized and able to work independently in a remote environment.
- Be willing to receive direct feedback and improve quickly.
- Be comfortable working approximately
16–20 hours per week
.
- Be willing to learn about the roofing industry and Rise Roofers’ audience.
Previous experience with content strategy, copywriting, YouTube, social media, research, or scriptwriting is helpful but
not mandatory if you are intelligent, curious, and willing to learn.
What This Role Is NOT
We are not looking for someone who simply:
- asks ChatGPT for 20 roofing topics;
- copies competitor content;
- rewrites other people's scripts;
- produces generic motivational content;
- waits every day for instructions;
- focuses only on getting views without understanding the business.
We want someone who gradually develops an understanding of:
the audience + the founder + the brand + the market.
What Success Looks Like
After the first 90 days, we should see:
- Content consistently prepared ahead of recording.
- Muhammad spending significantly less time researching and scripting.
- Scripts requiring less rewriting.
- Better and more relevant topic selection.
- Stronger hooks and content structure.
- A recognizable content direction rather than random posting.
- Better collaboration between strategy, recording, and editing.
- The strategist learning from previous content performance.
- Increasing familiarity with the roofing industry and our audience.
- Improvement in views, retention, engagement, conversations, or other meaningful performance indicators over time.
The strategist will
not be judged purely on views
because content performance depends on multiple factors including recording, editing, distribution, audience size, and platform algorithms.
However, we expect the strategist to study performance and make better decisions over time.
Training & First 90 Days
This is not a role where we expect you to understand everything from Day 1.
Training will be provided around:
- Rise Roofers
- Our services
- Roofing contractors
- Muhammad’s content style
- Our positioning
- Previous successful content
- Research methods
- Our content creation process
The first three months will also act as a learning and performance period.
If the person performs well, takes ownership, improves the content system, and becomes increasingly valuable to the company,
compensation and responsibilities can be revised after the first quarter.
The Bigger Purpose of the Role The objective is not simply to hire someone who writes scripts.
The objective is to eventually have a person who understands our audience and content deeply enough that Muhammad can focus primarily on:
reviewing → adding his perspective → recording.
Everything surrounding that should increasingly be handled by the Content Strategist.
