We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Contracts Specialist to join our commercial department. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in contract management, with the ability to handle all stages from drafting and evaluation to negotiation and execution. This role requires a professional who can effectively manage legal compliance, variations, claims, and maintain strong relationships with clients and stakeholders. The position demands excellent communication skills, analytical thinking, and the capability to resolve disputes through established contract frameworks such as FIDIC.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the entire contract lifecycle including drafting, evaluation, negotiation, and execution.
- Ensure compliance with legal and contractual obligations while addressing variations and claims.
- Resolve disputes and issues through contract management techniques, including claims and arbitration processes under FIDIC guidelines.
- Review and interpret legal documents and contractual terms to safeguard the company’s interests.
- Conduct negotiations confidently in both one-on-one and group settings, demonstrating strong persuasive skills.
- Provide analytical and project management support, offering technical and creative solutions related to contract management.
- Maintain regular communication with clients, subcontractors, and internal teams to align on contractual terms, deliverables, and any variations.
- Keep structured documentation, correspondence, and contract registers up to date and organized.
- Communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing, to ensure clarity and professionalism in all interactions.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Business, Contract Management, or related fields from a reputable university.
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience working in contracts or commercial departments with a focus on contract management.
- Strong knowledge of contract law, legal compliance, and industry-standard contract frameworks such as FIDIC.
- Proven ability to draft, evaluate, negotiate, and execute contracts efficiently.
- Excellent negotiation and interpersonal skills, with the ability to manage relationships and resolve conflicts.
- Analytical mindset combined with project management capabilities to provide effective contract solutions.
- Proficient in English communication, both written and spoken.
