Residence Hall Coordinator – Richmond Campus
The Residence Hall Coordinator (RHC) is a full-time, live-in staff member responsible for managing the daily operations of a residence hall or multiple residence halls housing between 250 and 700 students. Reporting to the Associate Director of Residence Life, the RHC oversees staff supervision, building management, and departmental processes while implementing a residential curriculum that promotes student development, community engagement, and a positive living environment. This role requires a strong presence in the residence hall, crisis management skills, and the ability to foster inclusive and supportive communities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as the primary contact for departmental processes, occupancy management, and facility or maintenance issues within the assigned residential community.
- Maintain a consistent and visible presence in the residence hall to support an engaged and inclusive residential community aligned with the department’s residential curriculum.
- Respond promptly to student and facility-related incidents, emergencies, and other campus situations following established protocols.
- Manage the student conduct process within the residence hall, addressing behavioral concerns and enforcing university policies.
- Supervise student staff through regular individual meetings, team meetings, performance evaluations, and ongoing coaching.
- Participate in departmental committees and contribute to broader University and Housing and Residence Life initiatives.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
- Experience in student affairs or residence life programming.
- Strong communication, organizational, and leadership skills.
- Ability to effectively manage crisis situations.
- Proven ability to build and maintain positive relationships with students, staff, and faculty.
- Must reside in the assigned residence hall and be available for on-call duties during weeknights, weekends, and holidays.
Preferred Qualifications and Benefits:
- Master’s degree preferred.
- Experience in a live-in professional role within a university housing program.
- Familiarity with student conduct policies and residence life best practices.
- Previous experience in staff supervision or leadership roles.
- Proficiency with housing management software such as eRezLife, StarRez, WebTMA, and Lenel.

This position is classified as exempt, non-driver, and requires a minimum 37.5 hours per week. It is funded through auxiliary sources and is open until filled.
