The Aga Khan University Hospital (AKUH) operates a network of Outreach Services alongside its five hospitals, extending healthcare access through Clinical Laboratories, Outpatient Medical Centres, Pharmacy services, Home Health, and other community-based offerings. These Outreach Services provide primary to secondary healthcare close to patients’ homes across multiple cities in Pakistan. The Outpatient Medical Centres host a variety of specialty clinics, including Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, Endocrinology, Dermatology, Gastroenterology, Cardiopulmonary, Orthopedics, Obstetrics and Gynecology, Pediatrics, and Physiotherapy. These centres cater to patients of all ages, from children to the elderly, offering general health checks and disease-specific consultations.

Key Responsibilities
- Supervise store and warehouse staff, ensuring professional conduct, discipline, scheduling, performance appraisals, and appropriate job assignments.
- Manage the business and operational activities of the Outreach Pharmacies Store and Warehouse.
- Oversee the receipt, inspection, storage, and distribution of medication supplies, ensuring compliance with safety, security, storage conditions, and quality standards.
- Monitor expiry dates of all drugs and pharmaceuticals in the store and outreach pharmacies, coordinating timely returns of deteriorated or expired stock to vendors for replacement.
- Ensure timely and procedural drug ordering from vendors to meet ongoing and special medication needs.
- Process Goods Received Notes (GRIN) and Return to Vendor (RTV) documents accurately and promptly to align with institutional payment KPIs and maintain effective inventory management, preventing backorders.
- Regularly review drug par levels and prepare purchase orders accordingly.
- Coordinate with the Materials Management Department/Warehouse (MMD/WH) on purchasing and distribution matters, maintaining professional relationships with all stakeholders.
- Assist the Pharmacy Manager in ensuring smooth drug supply operations, providing timely updates on supply issues and proposing solutions.
- Maintain compliance with practice standards, accreditation requirements (including JCIA standards), and applicable laws and regulations.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
- Provide regular reports and performance indicators related to the area of responsibility.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
- 5 to 6 years of experience in material management, warehouse operations, drug wholesale, and inventory control within a tertiary-level healthcare facility.
- At least 2 to 3 years of supervisory experience.
- Professional certification in a relevant discipline is considered an advantage.
